Temple and Old Architecture Photography Thread

India, has over a million temples, mosques, Church, Gurdwaras which in those times were carved by hand,

there was no thread on this so thought of starting one.

Lets see them people..

Here are a few from my end.

when I visited this temple, it was under construction. the first pic will show that, so I was not able to take many pictures,

but the intricate detailing on the walls and the sculptures was beautiful.

Nice thread Sumit.

I have the same set of photos taken last Saturday when we visited Somanathapura. It was built long time ago (1700) and was under repairs / renovation and not construction.

I have a panoroma and some close up shots and temple inside shots taken without flash wih NEX5 + kitlens. Hope you like them

Also a shot of a tortoise shaped mantapam next to the temple tank in Melkote town.

I wll post them later as I have to downsize the photos to load here.

WTF.. Dude.. were you the guy taking the pics in there on saturday??
i think we crossed each other many times and i also waited for you to complete taking the pictures so I could have a go at it.

the temple in the shape of a veena is somewhere in hassan district. not sure about the name of the place.
the other pics are of the temples in beluru and halebidu.
