So how big is the hole in your pocket?
Hi Guys,
I have always wanted to experience the drag race and decided to go to Hyderabad. I started off along with my friend. What was supposed to be a fun drive and total entertainment turned out to be a disastrous experience for us  (We got into too many issues such that we started chilling out without bothering). Never has my car given any issues during the long drive back home to kerala which I normally do, so we were not expecting any issues from the car. We started off on Friday the 2nd around 11 without knowing about the flood issues and not knowing what was in store for us.
The total journey was supposed to be 570 + 570 kms. But, in total we drove 1900 kms. At the end of it all, the total expense encluded a gone fuel pump, a bent alloy, worn out front tyres due to suspension issues, 4 full tanks of petrol plus what all and what not. Cant get into more details now due to lack of time now.
In fact, the blown fuel pump actually came as a blessing in disguise as it stopped us from reaching Kurnool which was one of the worst flood affected areas. So, I cant actually complain. In fact, we actually started enjoying all the trouble as we got used to it. More to come..
One pic of the car during the trip. Who would think that this thing will give us all the trouble..
So how big is the hole in your pocket?

Lots of trouble man.. Lots of trouble.
We started on 2nd(Friday) about 11 am and reached Hyderabad on Sunday morning around. We can complain about the problems or we can put it another way. I am taking the second option.
We drove really slow around 60-70km/hr and was enjoying all the places. We were also stopping when ever we can. On such a stop got a call from one member that there was a drive happening that night and some guys from Coimbatore members were joining in. Told him that I could not make it as we were on our way to Hyderabad. The roads were not too good and we reached Gooti. It is some 40 kms from Kurnool. It was around 6.30 pm then. We ate something from a Dhaba and then tried starting the car, but it would not. It damaged the fuel pump itself so that we would not reach Kurnool and get stuck there as that place was flood affected. :? (This will make me feel better).
We were stuck there. Every thing was fine, but petrol was not getting pumped. Then asked the Dhaba guys whether we could find a mechanic. They told us that we could some 4 kms further up. We took a lift and reached that place and found the mechanic. He assured us that every thing would be fine. We took an auto and reached the place. He investigated and found that it was a problem with the fuel pump. There was no place nearby where we could get a fuel pump. Even they got it from Hyderabad it seems. "Sir, we need to reach Hyderabad by tomorrow. What can be done?" I asked him. Don't worry. I have a plan. We will use the fuel pump of a diesel auto and try pumping petrol. He said. Try any thing. Sir, just make it work. He called the only spare parts shop around and it was closed. Damn luck. There was no other go but to wait till the morning. "I even asked him to remove a fuel pump from one of the cars in his work shop and use it on my car. haha. Then the waiting started......
