Left my car at the service station for getting my brake pads replaced last month. During their test drive, they observed noise on the rear right and changed the studs (but I never felt any noise)...came to around Rs.5k which was covered under warranty again (though not very sure about the amount)..car is due for the 40k service.

Will update once I get the service done

Got ECU remapped last evening from Siddharth of ToT. Was evaluating Cosworth as well, but felt home with the interactions I had with ToT...so went ahead with them. During the TD felt the car bit smoother.

Next week, July 26, 2012, I will be completing my first year of ownership with Fiesta SXI 1.4 TDCI. Meanwhile crossed 50K mark on the odo & have to get appointment for service. Till date I have not spent any money for the maintenance out of my pocket..though there are multiple warranty claims which were honored without much of or any questions

Planning to get the warranty extended by one more year...or say for another additional 20,000 kms (currently its 3 yrs or 60,000 kms). Charges should be somewhere around 7-8k. Have to check with them what all will be covered under that...Planning to upgrade the stock alloys to 15" & get MAXXIS Z1 tyres (Reason for temptation). GIII's have done a good job for me...if nothing works out, may just purchase one set of the same tyres

10,000 kms done with remapping & Iam happy with it. My mileage has increased slightly on both local and highway trips. Earlier its 14 kmpl in city & 15 kmpl in highways...now its 15 kmpl in city & around 16.5 in highway. As mentioned earlier, the car feels much smoother & breathes easier at 120-130 kmph band. Any gearhead wanted to try, please ping me

Got tired with my searching of alloys to my liking (black or white color multi spokes). Decided to close this chapter and settled with the one attached here. Same goes for tyres too...Wanted to try out Yohokama "S" drives ~ 195/55/R15 & fitted one....a mini revamp after 50k kms

Edit: BTW, what's the right tyre pressure on front and rear (mostly just the driver and co passenger)

Just wanted to check one thing in all this 50K that you have completed.. did you face any challanges / breakdowns while on the road ? how is Ford's roadside assistance. ?
I ask this because I have never done any long trips outside city... so trying to gather information... thanks for ur help in advance.

No, I have not faced any breakdown till date. Except one incident where the noise on the front wheel bearing kept increasing (esp while driving on bad roads) on a trip to Kerala. Took it to a service center at Kollam & they advised me not to drive at that condition as it could just damage the tyres. But they said it will take atleast one day for them to attend to it & has to be out of my pocket expenses as it will not be covered under warranty. Since I could not afford one extra day, I drove down without any issues & got it replaced within warranty at my regular service station next day

I have done REMAP for my new Ford Fiesta 1.5 TDCI with Petes today. I repent for not doing it immediately after buying my car, last November. But I think the REMAP was launched few months ago. Normally (new) Fiesta is very silent when idle and you can barely feel the engine is ON. But after REMAPping it, I feel it is more calm and just a sweet hummm. Driving comfort also increased very much , throttle seems to be opened up, eager to jump ahead. VFM for Rs 38000, I got some discounts on that price, as I am their regular customer, my i20 was on their tuning box and custom imported shox. And I also opted for smartwax for the NFF the next day.
    Ford Fiesta 1.5 TDCI (2011); Honda Brio Vx AT 2013, i20 CRDI ASTA (2009) Pete's tuned {SOLD}

  9. Thanks NAGA thanked for this post

There was a noise from front LHS shock absorbers & wanted to get it fixed quickly. So decided to give the car for 60,000 kms service as I had already closed-in to 58,600 kms. Called MPL Ford service center @ Pallikaranai on 5th September 2012 to fix an appointment for service. Got the allotment for 11th September 2012.

I always prefer to be there before 0930 hrs, so that you leave the car for service before it gets crowded. So was one among the early birds at the service center, but the coordinator refused to take my car mentioning it was scheduled only for Wednesday i.e 12th September 2012. Either of us don't have proof I told that Iam okay, if they cannot attend to my car that day, but he was firm that I bring the car next day Somehow managed to convince them & left the car for service.

I called them next day to ensure that they take the car for service & reminded them not to change the AIR FITER which I also filled in the sheet they get from us while leaving the car....12, 13 & 14....went to the service station to pick the car. Was bit unhappy on seeing the bill

    1. Bulb ~ 342.42+49.65
    2. Gasket ~ 54.48+7.90
    3. Wash fluid pouch ~ 53.06+7.69
    4. Shock Absorber Asy RH ~ 2090.70+303.15
    5. Bulb Halogen ~ 199.07+28.87
    6. Filter Engine oil ~ 401.19+58.17
    7. Fuel filter Assy ~ 1331.98+193.14
    8. Filter air cleaner ~ 272.02+39.44
    9. Heater assy fuel ~ 981.94+142.38
    10. Fuse 20 amps ~ 44+6.38
    11. Filter AC fresh air ~ 304.51+44.15
    12. Engine oil ~ (253x3.8L) 962.45+139.55

    13. Shock absorbers & spring assembly remove and refit ~ 280+34.61
    14. Head lamp remove and install ~ 105+12.98
    15. Fog lamp remove and install ~ 105+12.98
    16. Pollen/Odour filter remove and install ~ 140+17.30
    17. 60000 kms service duratorq diesel ~ 1645+203.32
    18. consumables ~ 129.5+16.01

    Total: 10,760/-

Except the suspension complaint everything was in order (including the bulbs) when I left the car for service. Not sure why did they replaced item no 9 & 11. It was only after coming to my residence I did noticed the RH in item-4 .......but there was not any noise from front LHS

Real shocker came when I walked near my car seeing the big black patch on the left rear wheel arch. As expected the guys at service station kept saying "No sir, its there when you got the car to our service station" I asked them to bring the sheet where they mark the damages while taking the car for service....it was marked there too ...smart chaps got that sheet too altered

PS: First not so good experience with MPL Ford@pallikarani
PS1: Sp**** traffic on return journey made me forget all those episodes at service station

They usually give a copy of this sheet along with the service request sheet when you leave the car for service right? Did you check that?
