Congrats on joining the LIVA family.

The HU is really good particularly the Bluetooth feature. I got the HU at Rs.18500/- from Fancy Car's World - 106, General Patters (GP) Road, Chennai 2 -contact person Mr. Habeeb / Rizwan (9884049390, 9840023591). I also installed the rear camera which costed Rs.1400/- and it is really useful. I did not install rear speakers as I wanted to restrict the after market fittings to the minimum.

Fog lamps are good in terms of safety (night driving) and looks. BTW the head lights are bright and sufficient for highway driving and fog lamps gives just the extra boost.

My suggestion is that you may go for Velcro mats immediately on taking delivery as the Toyota carpets are small in size and do not cover full floor area. Further, you may go for Toyota security system, fog lamps from Toyota dealer and other can be sourced from market.

DIP : First of all congrats on your new buy.

Would like to know why you went for the Petrol variant & also how about the NVH Level?
I TD Etios (sedan) & felt the Noise level is too high for a Petrol Car especially if you are in the Rear seat. If you are in the front seat doesn't have much noise but still high for a Petrol variant I say.

My monthly running is only 1200 to 1500 KM. For my kind of usage, Petrol was a better option on total ownership cost basis. Hence chose the Petrol car. I disagree with you on the NVH levels. I find the noise level is not high inside the cabin and there is no vibrations at all. I Test Drove the ETIOS sedan before booking the LIVA on the first day of launch. Before that I had TD i20, i10, Figo, Micra, Ritz. Comparatively, I found that LIVA's combination of good space, nice ride quality, handling, efficient braking and good mileage makes more sense though the interiors does not look contemporary. During my 3 months of ownership, I am happy with the car.

Ownership Report ETIOS LIVA PETROL - 6 months 7700 KM

    a) Mileage - 12.50 to 13 KMPL in B2B peak hour traffic in Chennai with 35% AC, 15 KMPL on highways with 100% AC - Normal Petrol
    b) Driving Comfort - Excellent
    c) Ride Quality - Excellent
    d) Interior Space - Excellent (we once packed 7 people for a long journey - Chennai to Nagercoil to Chennai - 1500 KM with three adults of average 75 KG each, 2 teenagers of 55KG each and 2 children of 35 KG each - Total passenger weight was 405 KGs
    e) Ground Clearance - Good with the exception of mud guards scrapping in non-pucca roads and big speed breakers if not handled properly
    f) Steering - Very Precise. Comfortable for city and safe for highway. Requires more turns but then it is safer too.
    g) Engine noise - The noise has reduced from the original levels and now the noise level is ok.
    h) Engine vibrations- not bad
    i) Rattles - Yes, below the dash board. Lanson Toyota people said it is 'normal'. But I will take up the matter with them again.
    j) Build Quality - Too early to comment
    k) BRAKING - Class Leading excellent braking - the best among the hatches (source Autocar india)
    l) Long trips - once did a long drive to Nagercoil and back - 1500 KM with 405 KG passenger weight. 14.75 KMPL was the mileage and the speed was generally in the range of 105 to 115 KMPH. Few times did max speed of 140 KMPH. Noticed that mileage is much better if speed is maintained at around 80 to 85 KMPH. (700 KM was done in 9.5 hours including 1.5 hours break for breakfast/lunch/photo). Car behaved well during this trip making our trip pleasant.

Overall Experience: I went for this car because it is scores well in parameters which were important for me - Braking, ease of driving in City, Mileage, interior space, ride quality, Dependable and trouble free quality.
Yes. I am happy with the ownership experience so far but always feel Toyota could have done better in few issues listed below
    a) Water seepage - Once, after heavy rains in chennai, on the way to office I encountered water logging on the road for a distance of about 100 meters. Initially the water level was low but the level was increasing as I went further and further. At one stage it crossed three feet and I had a difficult time moving forward as the force of the water made it difficult to move forward. I switched to reverse gear and started reversing when local people at the other end waved to me that I can go forward. I again switched gears and moved forward. The water level increased further making the car move feet by feet. The water started making waves. Somehow I managed to come to the other end without stalling the engine. Had the engine stalled in the middle, I fear water would have gushed into the engine. However, in the process, water somehow seeped into the cabin (almost 100 litres of water) through the door. If only Toyota had provided door gaskets, this would not have probably happened. But, I get solace from the fact that water seeped into other cars also which crossed the area.
    b) Toyota had given only one remote lock for the car. I have taken up the issue with the company and I await their response. I request feedback from other brand owners like i10,i20 swift, ritz, polo, vista, punto etc whether they were offered two remotes or only one remote. I understand that it is normal practice to provide two remotes. Feedback will help me in taking up the issue further with Toyota.
    c) It appears that there is no possibility of auto central locking - on switching on the engine or on crossing certain speed limit. This as I understand is available in other cars. Your feedback on this is solicited.
    d) Rattled below the dash board in uneven roads - Lanson Toyota did a long test drive and categorised the same as 'normal'. I would take up the issue once more with dealer and if not successful will escalate to the company.

To summarize, I am happy with the car though the above four issues are a damper. I request other members to give their feed back on a) Whether one remote or two remote was supplied for their cars and b) Whether auto central locking is available.

PS: can anyone help me in shifting this to a new thread.

not to make you feel bad, but IMHO its Toyota's CC class - cost cutting class, which has made them do this..Lanson Service center is B.S. (bad experiences with Innova and camry). They always delay and overcharge..

You can carry out free service at any Toyota Authorized dealership across India and Harsha Toyota being an authorized dealer, you can carry out your free service there as well.
