I got my Alto bumper melted and repaired for 'bout 200INR two-three years back, and it looked great. Since u know this mechanic, ask for better rates.

Regarding ur dash query, you'd probably have to get a little cutting done to incorporate a DVD screen. Post a pic of ur dash to get ideas on where to install. Or you could simply install it with a stick on stand on ur windshield like those used for GPS and cellphone.

Hi bro, this is towards the chanakya puri road, if you are coming from dhaula kuan side, take a left turn from coffee home, you will find 100000000000000000 mechanics..the bumper guy fixed front, rear bumpers, fixed the grille (the joints were broken), fixed head lamps (the joints were broken too) thats why I gave 500, otherwise I pay 150 - 200..

the lcd screen can be fixed on the windscreen like GPS, not the DVD Touchscreen head..

Don't have any but an extended panel can be made by a fabricator or you can source a m1000/800 center console and alter that.

hie guys

My car is parked in a garage (not M.A.S.S), and the mechanic is asking for 4K + Labor cost for the repair and all..

It started on Friday evening, I was coming back from Greater Noida, around 7PM, i turned on the a/c ..after a few seconds, it stopped cooling (I installed brand new subros compressor in april 2011)..by this time i was in a middle of a jam..Just like that I turned on the in dash lights, just to see how much petrol was left, and I found that the Temperature gauge in moving towards "H" i immediately switched off the a/c, and moved towards the left hand side lane.. stopped the car, opened the bonet, I found thst there was no coolant, I also saw that some major drops of water were dropped on the road (this was coming from the right hand side, near the axle)..Waited for the engine to cool off, then I purchased a few water bottles, started car, filled water in coolant box and radiator and came back home..

On Saturday morning, I assumed that some stone might have hit the car from beneath and coolant pipe or something was broken, this is why it happened..I went to a Garage (from where I usually get the service and all done), there was this new guy here..He checked the car and said that the "water pump is leaking..I called up a friend, who suffered from same thingy, he said, its possible, its ok.

I said OK too..purchased a new water pump and packing, filled newly purchased coolant..after 3-4 Hrs, the guy gave me the car, before the bill settlement, I wanted a test drive, this guy drove the car (he insisted that he wants to drive), I switched on the a/c, after a few seconds, the same thing happened (though, no water was leaking this time) car was getting heated..he drove till it touched the Red mark (until now, it didnt come up to red mark)..Then he stopped the car and back in garage he opened the bonet, he opened the Engine oil lid, and showed me some green liquid ..said it was water..(The water is flowing into the engine)
He now tells that engine packing was leaked, and that's why this happened, If he dont change the packing and then fresh the head, engine can be seized..I called up M.A.S.S, without even seeing the condition of car (on my verbal summary of the incident) they are asking for 10K + expense

..

What shall I do ?? Is the mechanic telling lie about all these things/ If not is 4K ok/ shall I spend 10K @ M.A.S.S

pls suggest..

well

got my car back after spending around 7K (includes purchases like : water pump/ coolant / engine oil/ oil - air filter/ water pump - engine packing etc)..
The mechanic cleaned the head/ changed the packing/ cleaned the radiator etc, after that the car was getting heated, finally he removed some sort of a spring ( called wall)..The car is not getting heated, as it was..

dont know if this is a permanent solution.

Hi Guys,

Changed the overall ICE wiring of my car, thanks to the mouse who ate the wires...$%&$# rat !!

time to change the seat covers now, any idea where can I get best leatherite seat covers out there in delhi, budget is maximum 3 - 3.5K...

I sure will post pics once the mods are done, as of now the wiring is changed..Changed to JBL wiring kit, costed Rs 1250, dont know if its genuine, packing looked good though

changed the Hydraulic Power Rack & Pinion Steering Gear Assembly, a head light and car (ICE) wiring kit.

This is stock light, the earlier one was cracked and was home for mosquitoes and dust..
