Well overall 35 sq. ft. of the material was used... all the doors have two layers i.e. one on the outer metal sheet, and one where the plastic covering (the plastic sheet you see after you remove the door panel) provided by the hyundai is.. and on the boot only one layer.

Quantity depends upon the extent of damping factor or effectiveness one wants. Like I have used 40 sq ft of Noise Kill to damp front doors and Rear Boot Lid only. The Boot floor was damped with Bitumen Sheets. But my application was ICE oriented hence the need.
Verna has stock factory ICE, I have damped it with around 30 sq ft for front doors and 15 sq ft for boot with Bitumen Sheets, application was to kill rattles and road noise.

Yes they are old gen stuff. Only 2 major hardware stores stocks them in my city.
Try finding them. Ask Dinesh Sachdev, he has found better quality with metal layer.

dude we have lots of shops in our city stocking this, there is an entire stretch of about 40-50 shops on walltax road selling these kinds of materials, metal sheet one was a custom order and had to be brought in from Bombay,
I think why my city has a lot of these shops because there is harbour calling in huge truck traffic and I think these materials are used in trucks to insulate them..
price comes up roughly same as noisekill.

other than that, you can also do DIY NOISEKILL OR DYNAMAT once you get the base materials, a)bitumen sheet b) aluminum foil c)baking soda d)hair dryer..
remove application side from the sheet with thin layer of plastic, slightly pepper the material with baking soda and stick aluminum foil onto it...
result : fire retardant home made noisekill..

and dude agn, for kerala you find your stuff here Ecoshield, Waterproofing, Heat Proofing, Polyurethane Grouting, Thermal Insulation, We Bring The Shield

and ask them for self adhesive membrane sheets (thats what these dudes call them)..

I think instead of this humungous and messy DIY , I could just buy myself noisekill..

So what is the benefit of using bitumen sheets when it is priced in the same range of noisekill??

Mine version of Bituminous Sheets cost Rs 50 per sq mt. Noise Kill sells at Rs. 120 per sq ft.
1 sq mt = 10.763 sq ft. Hence approx Rs. 5 per sq ft is the cost.
Say, for 40 sq ft of Noise Kill, I paid Rs. 4800.
For 40 sq ft of Asphalt Sheets, I paid Rs. 200 or hardly 250.
Noise kill is 1.5 -1.7 times heavier than Asphalt Sheets.

The sheet looks good. Does it have any metallic layer on top of it? The black layer visible is almost the same as of asphalt sheets. You can get these.
