Why can't Tata Grande be compared to Innova? Do you think that Innova is a luxury car? Innova, Grande and Xylo belong to the category of MUV, the only difference being higher price, better quality and better reliability of Innova. Both Grande and Xylo also have good engines: detuned Dicor and mhawk respectively. The only difference is that these two come from Indian manufacturer, one of whom used to make big trucks and the other one used to make small trucks(tempo), and have got some quality/reliability issues.

It would be more appropriate to say that comparing Aria/XUV with Innova is like comparing i20 (Aria/XUV) to Alto (Innova).

According to you XUV is a SUV and Aria is a MUV? Is it because of looks alone?

Both XUV and Aria are softroaders SUVs. Both are capable of similar offroad activity.

The DiCOR, a 2.2L engine, generates slightly more bhp, while the mEagle has a tad more torque. Both are tuned for better average and smoothness, unlike the mHawk, where it's power that matters, like the DiCOR in the Safari

Suggest drive a Sumo Grande & Innova back to back.

LOL ! please drive Aria , XUV and Fortuner and you will understand what I am talking.

I have driven Innova , Sumo Grande , XUV & Aria personally. XUV , Aria were short test drives , Innova & Sumo Grande on a long drive.

Was it a Sumo Grande with DiCOR engine? I think DiCOR used to come in two engine options: the one from Sumo, and the other one was detuned DiCOR engine from Safari.

Well, to be frank I have driven only Aria and Tata Safari (fairly long drive, but TD only). I have never heard any negative about the driving experience of Aria from others too? I have used Innova driven by a driver only. May be you can enlighten me on the differences between all these since you have driven all these vehicles!! In what manners (drivability/driving impression or any other ) are XUV and Fortuner better than Aria?

Also, it would be good to know the differences between a 15 Lakh Innova and Grande DiCOR. Buth are MUVs and targetted more for the Taxi segment.

Amongst all the SUV, I think XUV500 is the best overall package with good pricing. This car might be the game changer for M&M.

I agree, XUV is best overall package amongst all these due to its pricing. Aria is wrongly priced, and would have been a game changer for Tata if priced lower. There are some +ves and some -ves for features/drivability/comfort/space etc when XUV is compared with Aria. Aria loses out mainly due to its pricing, and secondly due to non-SUV looks.

Guyz, Did you hear that there is cash discount of about 1.6L going on on Aria + exchange bonus of about 40K. This makes Aria cheaper by 2 L. Nice price-point. What do you say?

Guyz, I wanted to understand the difference of only FWD and RWD mainly from the handling/control point of view of ARIA and XUV 2 wheel drive versions. Which is better for a big and heavy vehicle like Aria and XUV? Does it make a difference in highspeed driving on curves on India roads? Would like to hear your expert views.
