revfriendly, Thanks. I need to buy the cleaning kit for my K&N filter in my Dzire? Where is this shop location and provide contact number.

MASS do not offer cleaning of K&N filter, as they don't have the facility/ckeaning kit.

    Well two things...
    1) revfriendly 's car needs 33-2979, it costs $30~$36 because its smaller than 33-2968. It costs less (or same depending upon seller) imported.
    2) My car needs 33-2968, it costs $40~$47, and its not available locally.

If 33-2968 was available locally i would've bought it from here even if i had to pay few hundreds extra as i needn't wait. And probbaly i would be getting it at the same price or higher. Definitely not cheaper.

So got my K&N replacement filter today from USA. But i probably will not be using this in the near future since i'm back on BMC CDA and it makes a very bog difference. Don't know whether to sell this or retain this. Anyway here are some pics. This would fit the AStar (Type 1 airbox) and Swift 1.2 (Old) and maybe Ritz 1.2 too.

K&N did not make any difference in my case. I sold it already. Of course, there is no comparison with BMC CDA. BMC rocks!

Guys, what sort of a boost in performance is expected after upgrading to say a K&N filter? Am seeing a lot of filter upgrades these days, what does it really do?

Very marginal IMO. In my case, K&N did not make any difference with A-Star. Stock filter does great and I replace it every 10k kms.
