Yes I agree they have a good engine and Nissan is a good manufacturer. But so is Fiat, Mitsubishi. IMO Nissan don't really have a knock out punch in their cars available here. Yes, the large space counts a lot but is not really a deal maker. Had space been a dominant factor TATA would have been ruling till now.

    100% agree.

    Edit:
They might actually schedule a XE variant launch. That should be about 7'20L INR and could actually build up the numbers better than the higher models.

I've read some really bad reveiws for Etios. High NVH, water seepage and low mileage.

Nissan 8 valve SOHC engine when the competition offers 16 valve DOHC engine....you have let down us!!! Nissan is suppose to come out with latest technology but they are taking us for a ride. Now I am more shocked about Fluence which has the same engine.

Performance wise i am not sure what difference it would make...may be 007 can tell us

more valves = more airflow. better power, torque and greater flexibility. if an engine is small enough though, even 8 valve wont be bad.

8v heads are simpler than their 16v brethren and not to mention, way cheaper. however, if the performance and FE are on target, number of valves shouldnt really concern anybody.

+1 to that. the Swift comes with 16V DOHC. i dont like car manufacturers trying to sell something as if it were new technology with a SOHC engine. Even etios is SOHC engine of 8V.
