FAQ: How to embed GOOGLE MAPs to your post.

      Dear Gearheads,

Presenting to you all the latest addition to the existing features on Gearheads.

Now you can embed a "google maps" directly to your post using the "gmap" BBCode. Here is the procedure.

EDIT : Please see post #2 for the current working method.

Note: For any clarifications/doubts/improvements/suggestions kindly use the feedback forum.

      Cheers,

For those of you who've been unable to post Gmaps for the last few months, Google has changed GMaps recently so the older method won't work. For now what you need to do is:

      1. Chalk out the route map on Gmaps.
      2. Bottom right you will see the Settings Tab. Clicking that will show you Share and embed button. Click on that.
      3. Then go to Embed Map. There copy the link URL within the "apostrophe". Delete this out in the beginning <iframe src= and this out that comes in the end width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0"></iframe>
      4. Now back in the Ghds editor use the Gmaps tab or the [gmaps] yyyyy [/gmaps] BBCode and paste the URL in that.

      And voila, it should work

PS - The BBCode is GMAP not GMAPS. Had to enter GMAPS to show you guys, if not you'll see a map in my post instead of the instructions

      Plotted Bangalore to Pune. Google Maps spat out this embed link - <iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m29!1m12!1m3!1d3932471.3341204547!2d73"]https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m29!1m12!1m3!1d3932471.3341204547!2d73. 50039448175235!3d15.735047357779841!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f 0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!4m14!1i1!3e6!4m5!1s0x3bc 2bf2e67461101%3A0x828d43bf9d9ee343!2sPune%2C+Mahar ashtra%2C+India!3m2!1d18.520430299999997!2d73.8567 437!4m5!1s0x3bae1670c9b44e6d%3A0xf8dfc3e8517e4fe0! 2sBengaluru%2C+Karnataka%2C+India!3m2!1d12.9715987 !2d77.5945627!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sae!4v1408124910376" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0"></iframe>

Now cut and paste the bold+underlined part of this link and use the Gmap BBcode as advised above (the BOLD part in place of "yyyy")
