here in Dehradun, Uttarakhand..the last i knew it was 2.5% on the invoice value of the vehicle...although i read in the local papers that the govt is increasing it to 5%...this is due to the fact that many vehicle owners from neighboring states buy their vehicles and come to dehradun to get them registered to avoid the high tax rates in their respective cities..specially ppl who buy luxury and imports..
