2005 Elantra XD headlight reflector trembling.

    Hi!

How do I fix or tighten the reflector.
Do I need to open up the headlight assembly or can I just tighten from the rear of the lights?

    Thanx.

The reflector is held in place with three or four screws. So nothing much can go wrong with it. Even if one of them comes loose the other three will hold everything in place.

You had better confirm the issue is within the assembly before you open the headlamps up. Remove the headlamp assembly from the car (three bolts - two on top and one at the bottom. you will also have to disconnect the company headlamp wiring loom). Then remove the bulb from the holder and reach in and try jiggling the reflector assembly around. If it moves the problem is internal, but this is very unlikely. And since its has multiple anchor points, I doubt it'd be as simple as a missing screw.

    Thanks.
Guess I'll have to remove assembly to check it out.

    Teeth of the stepper motor

If there is a headlight leveler in your jiggling reflector then its possible that the teeth that help in headlight height adjustment is either worn out or has come loose from its holder. Have a look into it. Are you sure that the reflector is jiggling or the bulb.

Headlamp leveler was introduced from the 2006 models onwards. It has to be a ill-fitting bulb or more likely a loose bulb retainer/clip
