    W = 10 to the power of (dBW / 10)

    Where:
    Lreq = required SPL at listener
    Lsens = loudspeaker sensitivity (1W/1M)
    D2 = loudspeaker-to-listener distance
    Dref = reference distance
    HR = desired amplifier headroom
    dBW = ratio of power referenced to 1 watt
    W = power required

    Yes, moreover the amp will Clip and will make the "DUM" sound to "dim" and also lead to harmonics\distortion

    Damping can improve (lessen) the environmental noise floor and hence an improvement in the dynamic window. With a well-insulated cabin, you get to hear more subtleties of music than with an un-damped and hence more noisier cabin. But there is a limit to how much damping can improve on.

    cmsajith...do you think going Active will aid the Amp in producing better dynamics?

    Yes and No. Providing separate amps are a good way of powering the speakers properly, it can give you better dynamics, but it doesnt mean that any active setup will give that. If the speakers are getting enough power to reproduce the dynamic range, it will, simple as that. So a passive setup can also do it.

    An active setup can reduce the power wastage in the passive xover circuit and also the amp dont have to deal with all the freq as it is separated at the preamp section. So this will help in getting a better dynamic range than using the same setup in passive. But the imp point in an active setup is the perfect matching b/n the speaker and the amp and the xover setting, else it will be worse than the passive setup.

    Its the Zapco Z Amp in Verito (for the GM M-Line 2 Way - Sensivity is around 85 db)

    Right if a Speaker Demands more Power and the Amp Cannot deliver that Power, then it will try to Clip the Signals. As you know all Music Signals are a form of Sine Wave - However when the Amp clips, it basically tries to cut short the waves , there by making the Sine wave as Square Wave. And When the Speaker tries play these Square waves then it is heared outside as Distortion

    Here is something I found funny. I have always downloaded at 320 kbps and pretty happy with it.

    Now, I listened to the same track through an MP3 disk, a regular CD and through my iPod. Please note the MP3 disk and CD were burnt by me. Here are the results - iPod > CD > MP3. Why did the iPod sound the best among the 3?

    It happens all the time. Output is always different from different devices. U listen a particular song in a samsung phone and then listen the same track of same bit rate via another device like an apple or blackberry, the latter ones will sound better.
