    Lightbulb All Cars Technical Info

    Hi all

I wish everyone here in GH should know some good websites for their research, queries, doubts and interests.
Its my pleasure to share what I know, and hope, will be the same for all

We will start with a really good website which will give you data on Any DIY.
    I mean to say... ANY.

    http://www.ifixit.com/

check out the inner page for automobiles, http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Automobile, it is vast and wide but miss some major brands (hyundai is not there )

But dont worry, you can add it ! Anyone can join this website and create their own pages for devices, cars etc or any repair, install etc processes.
Also you can buy related tool sets from the Parts and Tools section.

I rate this website 4.5/5 for its usefulness, user friendliness, clarity and well maintained data.

next in the list : http://www.4-the-love-of-jeeps.com/

A personal website from Larry Morton, a veteran US army man, who is a great (may be greatest) fan of all kind of JEEPS.

It gives you literally all about jeeps and 4x4s. Right from the lineage to additional fittings.

We have an Indian connection here : http://www.4-the-love-of-jeeps.com/mahindra-jeep.html

Interesting for any jeep lovers, and 4x4 enthusiasts around the world.

Forgive him for the UI design - it is a program-generated website, not a custom designed one.

Rating : 3 / 5 for its interesting info, ideas, Q&A and ugly design of pages

Nice images are used in all tutorials to make the idea clear. Also videos series for different topics. Design is simple and quiet readable.

Rating : 4/5 for its vast information, simplicity in browsing, registration system, integrated google search, following questions, upgrading questions, not sure about the response from the team.

Introducing another website, motrpart similar to iFixit, who claims " first e-commerce site for selling the spare parts of cars online in India".
The brands include Maruti, Hyundai, Toyota, and Tata India etc.

Plus they have a repair unit, tutorial videos and lots of stuff on the portal.
Register with your vehicle details and watch the simple training videos to add on to your knowledge base.

    Website: http://www.motrpart.in/

Very minimal design and first focus goes to the questions asked by users, guides and videos.

Rating : 2.5/5 for its minimal content and design, easy registration, large Q&A bank etc.

screenshots cannot be uploaded due to new network security policy at my office

    Safety first

From some recent posts from camchennai, I got these links and it is worth to bookmark.

Do your research on safety measures and rating for the vehicle, before giving money for it.

    http://www.iihs.org/ :

See all safety ratings, crash test results, test videos etc. Read on articles on safety, Consumer brochures, research results (must say - it is really a knowledge bank of all possible accidents and its effects) etc

Easy to browser design. Content oriented, lots of info. Still they could have done some improvement in looks and arrangements.

    Rating: 4.5/5

    http://www.jdpower.com/ :

Needless to say what is in and who they are. Start your research right from your car page.

Designed better, Reviews done unbiased, all tech data available. customer comments are not looking natural though.

    Rating: 4/5

Was gleaning through some old emails when I stumbled upon this link. Pretty useful read about Torque/BHP, as to what they mean and how they are related.
