SUV, what to buy? 4X4 or 4X2?

Many people have dreams to buy an SUV once in their lifetime. While they decide to go for one, they get confused as which one to choose. A 4X4 with locking differential, All Terrain vehicle or a 4X2 primarily a soft roader.

Please share your thoughts and experience!

A 4X4 with locking differential,

there are very few vehicles available in India's Market with this feature,

1. Mitsubishi Pajero
2. Pajero Sport
3. Mitsubishi Montero.

if there are any more then please add.

All Terrain vehicle

here I hope you meant the SUV's with a 4wd mode. these can be either a Alltime 4wd or selectable 4wd mode.

4X2 primarily a soft roader.

most of the SUV's in 2wd mode fit this category.

As per my preference, if you are buying a SUV, i would suggest to get a 4x4 vehicle only for the reason that you will have options to take your vehicle to places where the 2wd / softroaders will not be able to make it.

Add Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Yeti, Ford Endeavor, Hundai Santa-fe + + (SUB 30L segment)

I thoroughly agree with you. When you spend 20+ L why not 1-2 L more and go far 4X4.
