    My 2Strokes

This will be one thread where i will discuss & share all information on my 2stroke lineup which consists of the below:

    1. 60cc TVS Scooty ES (Year : 2000)

    2. 65cc Hero Puch 2G (Year : 1999)

    3. 141cc Yamaha RX135 5-Speed (Year : 2002)

    4. 132cc Yamaha RX135 5-Speed (Year : 1999)

    5. 347cc Yamaha RD350 6-Speed (Year : 1987)

    6. 132cc Yamaha RX-Z 5-Speed (Unofficial yet)

After having some fun with 007 regarding my RX135 Vs his OHC, it was time for me to get the 135 running back to racing instincts again. It has gathered lot of dust for few months & there were some engine work & tuning issues to be sorted out.

The current bike in topic is no.3 on the above list & is the Black coloured single owner Yamaha RX135 5-Speed. Been very very busy for the last 2 days or so in setting up the bike. The bottom engine was done to drag specs 6 months ago itself & the top end has been ported to stage 3+ specs.

Below is the list of mods taken up for last 2 days:

    1. The ignition was modified to produce more current (don't ask me how that was done, supposed to be a secret)

    2. UNI air-filter plonked on the stock VM22 Carburettor & some super jetting to go with it

    3. Front outer tube damper rods replaced to stock RX settings (I am using Gladiator front end, this made the height of the bike to go down by an inch & the suspension now feels much stiffer)

    4. Got the original RD350 handle (As this is one handle which suits my riding style, the handling is near perfect now)

5.Clutch Bell assembly with matching primary to changed

6.RX-K imported clutch plates (6 numbers)

7.Shell Fully synthetic 4T oil used for GearBox (650ml)

So was all these really essential, the answer is hell yes. I dont like my bikes stock, love them fully blown. The bike now power wheelies when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear within power band operation & wheelies like crazy even in 2nd gear with a de-clutch. Could not test the bike to the limit, but i was able to do 100+Kmph in 3rd gear alone, which was kind of lacking previously. The howl is unbelievably orgasmic. Will be checking the bike to the limit (read : Raping) tomorrow or the day after when i take her to the office. If everything goes well, then i feel the bike is ready for the 007 OHC challenge.

Just to give you guys an idea of what a 135cc engine is capable of, my tuner's RX135 5-Speed does 13.XX secs for quarter mile. The video is that of an RX100 doing 14.XX secs (Blue & White coloured bike belongs to my friend):

Will update this thread as when i take up some mods.

Though not from RX series, but this article is from its arch rivals (Shogun & Shaolin). Check out the 0-60Kmph & 0-100Kmph timing, considering these are just single cylinder air-cooled engines. The RX100s & RX135s can really get up close to these figures & sometimes even better them.

    Enjoy the read.

My fav of the lot, before the Bullet Bug bit me. Though i used to secretly admire the 135 series owned by friends.

OT - I have been wanting to own a RX from a long time, this thread just triggered the thirst. What do you guys say about the Combi of Bull and RX. Deadly eh! Thought so...

Karthik, if i am not going too OT here, can you suggest at what rate i could purchase a neat stock RX, if there are any.

Yes they are very quick indeed. Infact TVS factory tuned Shaolin is the fastest single cylinder air-cooled bike in India & RX135 is just a few tenths of a second slower mainly due to lack of Yamaha factory support. Never the less 2strokes rock !!!!

Thanks junaid Bhai. I am not sure if my RX can cross the escape velocity to reach the Moon.

Nice to know that. You don't have to secretly admire it, be open & tell your bull that he will have a partner soon.

Thanks buddy. Yes its a 4-speed bore with a 1.5mm O/S TKR piston, the GB is drag spec.

First ride impression : Black 5-Speeder

Finally i got a chance to test the devil today. Wanted to test her on clear roads, so took the bike to elevated expressway starting Platinum city ending Parle G (NH4).

Took a deep breath & started the engine, the sound as i said before is simply orgasmic owing to UNI & Expansion Chamber combination.

    1. Engaged in 1st gear & redlined it, no problem what so ever.

    2. Shift to 2nd & redlined, no problem

    3. Shift to 3rd & redlined, no problem

    4. Shift to 4th & redlined, speedo reading 120Kmph & bike shuts off !!!!!!!

And i thought, WTF is wrong with my fate, why can't this ****in filters perform well !!!!!!!! I had covered around 10% of the distance on elevated expressway. Was cursing myself & my tuner too. Mind was too hot to think anything else.

Stopped the bike & shaked it to see if petrol is adequate, yes you guessed it, the freakin petrol was near empty & the bike could not rev at 9000RPM with such less fuel !!!!!!!!!

Came back in wrong direction with headlight ON & filled 4Lts in the adjacent HPCL bunk. Ok now i was ready to take up the challenge again,

1-2-3 were as usual brilliant, maxed out in 4th & speedo showed a little more than 135Kmph, shifted to 5th & speedo crossed 140Kmph & before i go any further there was traffic ahead, so had to slow down. The handling even at these speeds is terrific & disc is really sharp now & thanks to harder suspension, the vibes are almost NIL.

Am planning on using a Mikuni TM24 along with V-Force reeds as next set of mods.
