      Lancer with MIVEC V6 for sale!

      I am putting up my MIVEC Lancer for sale, most of you guys know the car well and the efforts that have gone into it... well, it's been almost 5 years since I have bought this car and have spent quiet a big sum on "improving" it all the time.

      Here is a link for an article about the MIVEC on Quartermile Magazine. The only addition after that is a subtle ducktail spoiler.

      The car is a 2000 model Lancer SLXi and Engine comes from an FTO. Completely rebuilt, comes with two ECUs, one is a mines tuned ECU (which is well reputed in Japan, just google it!) and the standard FTO ECU. Gives me a mileage of 10.5 in the highway (pushing it hard, doing about 180 KM/h) and 8-8.5 inside the city. I have added loads of stuff, including Koni adjustable struts, Peddars springs (this makes the car ride a bit lower and harder), custom SS free flow exhaust, K&N apollo filter, Exedy Stage 1 clutch etc. The list is quiet big

      I am looking for Rs.5L (slightly negotiable) and I believe it is a fair price, considering I had spent quiet heavily and have ensured it is mechanically trouble free. It is my daily drivers these days as the Civic has gone for yet another paint job.

      The original colour was silver grey, I had recently painted it Pearl white at Sundaram Honda Coimbatore. Even the final polish is pending since I wanted the paint to cure properly. I will get this done before I hand over the car to anyone.

      Interiors are stock and nothing you can speak about. It's not a mess but nto great either, I am trying to source frotn seats from a Cedia (leather) and that will be thrown in free. I will get the doorpads changed also. This car had a nice ICE setup that has been removed now.

      This is NOT a distress sale, I would rather it goes to someone who understands and respects the machine and the effort gone into it.

      Reason for sale: I am planning to buy something more interesting and it makes no sense having both this and the Civic at home... two high performance petrol cars, with almsot similar characteristics.

      Forgot to say, the car was fully stripped (to the bare shell) and re-painted so chances for any component to fail are very very slim... we have checked each and every part before it went back in.

      Engine is not endorsed in the RC, car is still in the original owner's name so technically it's a single owner car (though it had changed 2 hands!). I can provide the transfer of ownership papers from the original owner. NOC may not be possible as the car is registered in Chennai.

      India still being on 2, 3 and 4 cylinders, would help to at least see a pic of a V6 to spruce up the sale. Its doesnt sound like a regular mitsu at least in the post.

      svsantosh, it's not a regular Lancer, it's THE Mivec Lancer... the link gives you a good idea of what it is and what all had gone in. It's got both pics and the specs

      After I read the article in the link, this is what i felt. Whoever buys it, I guess it is not the price paid just for the machine but the time and effort put in to build a car with such a detail. From the pictures, it is just another car, except the one with hood opened.

      shyamhegde, you got it right pal.... I'd love for this car to go to someone I know so he can enjoy it the way I did. BTW, the looks part was kept sober because I wanted this to be a sleeper. Even the front bumper slots and hood were done only because it aided airflow.

      It's a nice feeling when kids with loud exhausts think it's an uncle driving a Lancer with skirts (and DIESEL, invariably!) and try to mess with the MIVEC. Just flip two gears down and the car explodes into a totally different beast, leaving others to bite dust. Then I settle back into the 50 kph/5th gear rhythm waiting for the next victim!

      Enough to give this Honda Hornet being driven by a fairly good rider a run for it's money!

      For 5L it's probably the quickest car money can buy you today in the used car market under 30L unless you get a Skoda RS with the 300bhp tune.

      bamaboy, the last dyno run, it put out 200 bhp, should be very slightly better now because of intake and exhaust revisions done after!
