Maruti to debottleneck car delivery to cut down wait period

Maruti lovers can rejoice now. Just came across this article. So now all swift lovers who had to wait for 2-3 months can get their beauty in less time IMO if this model works for Maruti.

Quote::::"""There’s good news for consumers queuing up for Maruti cars. In an attempt to cut down on the waiting period and to circumvent production constraints at its Gurgoan plant, Maruti Suzuki is setting up a company-owned stockyard and model showrooms across 16 cities in the next two years """"

rather than stacking up the cars in the go-down and then customers getting a Jan produced car in June and the excise rate changing scenerio, it would be better to increase the production rate

Increasing production is no joke. It involves spending millions of dollars on equipment, infrastructure etc. Also does investing so much at this stage make sense? Swift has been around for quite a long time now. Maruti might want to replace it with a newer model. Most of these production lines are car specific. Which means most of it will be rendered useless if they discontinue the model.

SWIFT will not be replaced, at any cost. Maruti will not even replace struggling models, and we are expecting superhit model to get replaced ?
Coming back to the topic, its just a PR coverage for Maruti so that customers dont run away seeing the waiting period, given that now one has many options available in the market.

Maruti sells its car, showing waiting periods. People think wow so much demand. Only we know that its the problem with production capacity or willful delay of production.
