      confused

i just got my second job...all this years my family was using the 2003 tata indica,..my budget was 4 lakhs..my running is about 100kms per day...80% of them are highways...10% on very bad roads..we shortlisted alto, wagon r basic,,hyundai eon..i finalized alto k10 10 days ago..i test drove alto k10..space is less...but good car..all of the people in my family loved it...i decided to buy it..two days ago..i went to my freinds wedding...i was discussing my decision..he about k10 some 6 months back,,he said that the car is good..but there it's not comfortable he said..then i came to know about the tata safari for sale from my another friend..i wasn't intrested...i called my dad and said about the offer and my dad asked me to take a visit to the car...

make: tata safari 2006 3.0 lx model turbo engine..leather seats...50000 kms done,,it had all the accesories like adjustable power steering, power windows, dvd player and monitor...single onwer vehicle,,white colour,,,tyres changed recently, new battery..they have the bill..the car was unused for 4 months..paint was oaky..not dents on the body..i drove the car...car felt good..but i feel the engine was rough..the car was owned by a elderly person in his 60's...he quoted me 3.25 lakhs...but i liked about the car is space inside is very big..for a guy like me,,i felt it's very big...

      now my question is
how much kilometers the enigine is capable of running? i'm a slightly afraid becuase it has 50,000kms..i'm really confused after seeing safari becuase it has space and comfort..air con is very good...my mind is saying to buy k10..but every now and then i was thinking about the safari...now i need help from you? i will be visiting the vehicle with a mechanic tommorow or day after..

in my opinion thats a good price for a car which has done on an average of 8k kms a year and in said condition, on the other hand you have to think wether you can take care of a car this big, in terms of parking space and running costs(that includes service costs which are decidedly higher) i can't say about the 3l engine though since i haven't had the privilege of driving a safari with that engine, but it has plenty more miles left in that engine, bad roads are taken with ease by the safari, the suspension is a touch on the softer side so its really good on bad roads, highway driving means its pretty much perfect for your application considering it does feel boxed in on city roads, best of luck with your decision

hrag's safari has run more than 1 lakh kilometers. If we take care of the engine, there will be no issue at all. Get it verified by a mechanic, the price seems very good

IMO it can run upto 2.5L - 3L kms IFF you maintain it properly. Moreover it is a born to deliver engine similar to Tata 207 engine. It is a work horse.

10 in city and 14 on highways depending on your driving style.

You're running 100km a day, is Safari good for that? Yes you'd be comfortable but what 'bout traffic situations and narrow roads. Think it through.
