Unhappy Bumpy Ride on my I20

      Hello Guys,

I have few issues with my I20. Need your help and suggestions

      1. While driving my I20 on uneven roads even at Lower Speeds the car Wallows a Lot , Forget about High Speeds still the same. It behaves more like a boat rather as a Car.
      2. During recent rains and In Slushy roads, my car tyres have absolute no grip , it sways a lot.

      Few things
      1. My tyre is Stock Apollo 185/65/14 , had done 22000 kms till date.
      2. Wheel alignment and balancing was done 3 months back.

I'm taking my car to the service center this weekned, Need to know is there anything i need to check specifically.

NONSTOP - this could be the infamous (or famous) steering rattle issue with i10 & i20s. Do check with the service centers.

Typical Hyundai suspension traits. Nothing to worry about.

Why are you surprised? Rains and slush aren't the ideal conditions for your tyres to grip. Only thing you can do is go really gentle on the throttle.

Your stock Apollo Accelers are good enough for that car. Don't think there is any issue with your car.

my santro does the same kind of bobbing motion of boat on water...this becomes more when the tire pressure is higher around 32/30...Around 28/29 psi, the ride is more softer, the tires seems to kind of spread out more over the uneveness but am scared of puntures

Maybe check the tire pressure and experiment a bit to see what gives the best ride? Maybe some uneven wearing has also occurred perhaps...

Just a thought from my end, have you checked if the tyres are over filled with air?

Don't go by the petrol pump recommended pressure, keep 2 or 3 psi more than Hyundai recommended pressure. This should make those irritant bumps a bit of cushioning and it will also make the car lot smoother.

In my car, the recommended OEM pressure is 30 and i generally filll 32 i can feel all the bumps imprinted on my backside Only time i got a nice soft ride was by mistake when i filled 28 psi... the ride was soft but felt like i was driving on all four punctured wheels...is that how is it supposed to be?

Isn't this the other way ? Lesser Tyre pressure= better ride. Or do some suspension upgrades like Bilstein B6.
