Should i SELL my RX 100 and buy a DUKE ???

      Hey guys,

In a dilemma from a few days. Need to know what you guys think.

Change is inevitable . Older products are replaced with newer ones for a reason .

Here is my dilemma and seeking opinions of all you guys here

I have a 89 Model Yamaha RX 100 (G1 Bore) , one of the most iconic motorcycles our country has ever seen still manages to put a smile on my face even today . But off late have spent quite a bit on maintaining it and the need for an upgrade crept in slowly but steadily but dint like any of the bikes around ( Pulsars, Apaches ). but with the KTM DUKE 200's entry i seriously gave it a thought went for a test ride and really liked the motorcycle .

Short gearing , the way the motorcycle revs, equipment level ( USD Forks, Trellis Frame ) liked almost everything and I am tempted to trade my RX for the DUKE.

Yes the Duke has some negatives like a very stiff ride , Practically no pillion seat but these are stuff i can live with.

what would you do if any of you were in my situation.

      Having both motorcycles aint happening.

Keep the Rx 'and' buy the Duke

      Think of it this way.
You can buy the Duke anytime.

Can you get a good Rx that easily ?

I will +1 yzfrj's point and say keep the RX!

See you know everyone good about the duke, so nothing much to add there. But keep in mind the Duke still is a Bajaj product, so know what you are getting youself into. There will always be some minor stuff that will keep you and your mechanic's weekends occupied. That being said, the Duke is one HELL of a bike ... its got "soul" if you know what I mean, but then you ride a RX so you'd know

As everyone already mentioned I also say the same thing. RX is a RX. Nothing can replace this mean m/c. But a Duke and add some color to your biking life

Thanks for your suggestions guys Booked the duke few days back and the delivery will be done on Saturday . Planning to give the RX to my cousin in that way it will still be with me . So as of now both will co-exist . Mods please close the thread as the decision has been made.

Surely will upload some pics and my experience with the DUKE. I am looking forward to one crazy bike in the city where most of our riding will be. The run-in period is gonna be a torture .

You had Rx100 which is a legent and now you want Duke!! hmmm...

Rx100 and Duke are of same nature!! Both response to throttle in no time!! So if you really care for short geared bike all time riding with a aggression then Duke is nice. But does you really need a short geared bike ?? Why not a NS200 where you will save good amount of money!! almost all same infact engine also...

If money is not concern at all then Duke is nice!!! anytime a best option in 200cc!!

i did test ride the 200NS and for the money they are asking its a lotta bike . but its just the nature of the power delivery that I fell for . the urgency in the way the engine goes about doing its duty is so desirable .

When you ask do you need a short geared bike id say YES ! after riding the RX i think its the right upgrade .
