The same channel also shows the fabia kicking some serious butt optra magnum, for example.

remap and a tuning box is as different as an apple is from an orange

let the same stuff be done on both cars and then drag

ever wondered why VW n skoda are moving from Tdi to Crdi

Don't mistake me for an i20 fanboy, but I really really cannot believe this is true. I can safely say, with a similar remap, the i20 will whip the fabia anyday. Heck, the stock fabia cant even keep up with a swift.

P.S: it doesnt even look as if the driver was flooring the i20! Even a stock i20 smokes when floored hard. btw, what 'other' tuning box is this car running on?

P.P.S: A stock i20 can keep up (has kept up) with a remapped swift. A remapped fabia should be peanuts, unless the 'other' box which they've installed sucks power instead of boosting it!

I'd love to see this guy on the forum though!

Hm Jay, you should look at the timings the dude posted. The videos sujay(from tdiracing) posted are here - http://gearheads.in/drag-racing/apmc...15.html#p18785 They also contain the timing info. And the video says the i20 belonged to AR Shabbir, who also has a Supra and other myriad cars/bikes. He knows how to drag/launch a car better than most people around.

What time does a boxed i20 take to do a quarter mile in?

I couldn't find the timings on the linky you posted, but if indeed is true, then hats off to the guy who did it. Blowing away a magnum is really something, especially when the vehicle in question is a lousy 3cyl tractor!

I'd like to know what mods are done to the fabia. Just a remap makes such a difference?

The timings are in the videos themselves, towards the end. I think in the Vs i20 video, he posted 15.9 seconds. That is mighty good for that car.

Ps. All I know is from the videos posted here. Will try to get more details up here soon.

Like tadu said- the timings even for the car that lost, was impressive. 15.9 for an 120. which is why i decided to put up this video here. It was driven by shabbir- you really cant say it's driver error.

What is even more impressive is that this was done with a fabia 1.4 tdi- A car that I thoroughly despise for being slow.

I'm sure the car has gone whole hog with the mods.
exhaust, intake, turbo upgrade, swapped injector nozzles /injectors themselves, remap, clutch
we'll wait to hear it straight from the horse's mouth itself.
Skoda diesels have it easy.performance parts are available off the shelf. try doing this with a fiat diesel

I was dreaming about a 1.9 engine swap into the fabia, but seeing this video, I think the 1.4 will do
This is a total giant killer.

what i would really like is, someone doing some serious work on the i20. not just a tuning box.
