By the looks it seems like a real 7 seater unlike ertiga.

But i think it will be costly with cheap interiors and dual airbags even on high end models.

I too spotted in Chennai with fully camouflaged

      Exteriors

*Side Profile looks like Xylo similar too large airy window and lowed door panels & roof rails on the top.

*Back or Rear door view similar to own sibling Duster rear door some wat expanded and chrome licenses plate has been blacked out in plastic rubber and expanded to maximum.

*Tail light similar to Ertiga expanded vertically.

*Tyre and alloys are similar to Xylo comparatively very small to the looks.

*Getting into cabin as easy as in Innova.

*As far as front look similar to Ertiga with shrink-en Headlamps

      Interiors

*Similar to Xylo seating not getting inclined towards back & 3rd row seating may not be as Ertiga & Innova.

*Boot space will be more and not like in Xylo,Ertiga and Innova.

      Expectation:

      *Dual tone Interior
*Dual Air bags & ABS with EBD.
*Independent A/C Vents for all rows similar to Xylo.
*Seating options (7 or 8) seater like independent bucket seats as well as Bench seats in Middle row.
      *Door trims similar to Xylo!...?
*Music system similar to Duster or Updated touchscreen infotainment System.
*Individual row / cabin or Map lights similar to Xylo.
*Engine Similar to Duster or Dacia Lodgy (85,90,110)Bhp version.
      *Dashboard Similar to Duster.

      Renault Lodgy

Looks like Lodgy launch is quite near. Hope it takes the fight to the Innova.

Renault India has already started producing the upcoming model at its Orgadam plant in Tamil Nadu and the India-spec Lodgy will come with a new front-grille and some really minor styling tweaks. The biggest change that can made out from the sole official image is the addition of chrome highlights. The Lodgy also seems to have got new design alloy wheels. Check out our comprehensive report here for all details on the Renault Lodgy MPV India launch details.

I think they going to launch after Budget,Mostly in March!

Renault appears to be very "quick" with its Indian strategy. The news that they are launching Lodgy first came out in 2012 and after three years we are yet to see one on Indian roads. They seem to be satisfied with Duster sales.

NCAP advises drivers to opt for safety and avoid three-star Dacia Lodgy

AS CHRISTMAS and the New Year fast approach, families are looking for a fresh start, with many seeking new cars to safely transport their loved ones.

And while many new vehicles have received praise for their safety, consumers are warned to steer clear of the new Dacia Lodgy, after the small MPV received 'below average marks in all areas of safety', according to Euro NCAP's latest crash tests.

dummy bannerThe Dacia Lodgy undergoes a head-on crash test, which declared it unsafe for families
Dr Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP, said: "It is disappointing to see the Lodgy do badly in our tests, especially coming just a week after the Sandero, branded a Renault in South America, was given a poor one star rating by Latin NCAP."

The seat and head restraint are also said to provide poor protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision.

He added: "The Lodgy is a budget vehicle and customers will accept compromises in comfort and performance, but not safety. Euro NCAP believes that occupants' safety should be paramount, regardless of how much they pay for their vehicle.

"In pedestrian protection, the Lodgy's score of 44 per cent compares unfavourably with other cars recently tested, all of which scored more than 60 per cent. The child protection score of 77 percent is unexceptional and does not live up to the self-acclaimed "family vehicle" reputation. Finally, Dacia has decided not to make electronic stability control as standard equipment, exploiting the last possible opportunity before the technology became mandatory."

Garry Chiles, Principal Product Engineer for TRW Braking Systems, designed the brakes for the five-star rated Range Rover Evoque. He explained to Motortrades Insight: "Electronic Stability Control (ESC) could reduce skidding accidents by up to 80 per cent. The EU estimated that ESC could avoid 4,000 deaths and 2,000 injuries a year. And it could save a lot more lives in the US as well so it is a safety critical technology.

"It's amazing. You could be driving at 80mph in a fast lane on a motorway and then suddenly swerve to avoid an object and the car simply doesn't spin around. It keeps the car stable and the driver's able to steer around an obstacle safely and this I think is the best safety improvement in braking in recent years."

The likes of Michael Schumacher and Sebastien Loeb backed the ChooseESC! campaign.

Families this Christmas may find their wintry weather solace much left to be desired, with the wintry breeze of budget car safety extending into the New Year. So families looking for a new MPV may find themselves in a tricky situation when their New Year's Resolution fails to hit the road next summer.

The crash test report sounds horrendous: “The rear passenger floor panel and tunnel were completely separated, extending into the driver’s footwell and the transmission tunnel was deformed between the front seats.”
In 2012, it’s extraordinary for a car’s floor to split in this way.
Euro NCAP secretary-general told Car Safety Rules: “It’s strange that Renault allows this to happen. The car breaks open – this is a serious fault that we haven’t seen for some time. It’s quite disturbing.”
Van Ratingen continues: “There’s nothing good. Everything about this car is below-average. It worries me that this is being marketed as a family car and that some organisations have already named it their car of the year. It has one of the worst adult occupation protection and one of the worst child occupant protection scores.”
Dacia also charges €300 for electronic stability control (ESC), a technology that has been a legal requirement for new cars in Europe since late last year. The Lodgy must have been type-approved just before the new rule came into force. Is that a clever cost-saving or just poor customer service
