Wet Carpet found on the driver side : Chevrolet Beat

      Hi All,

This happened after continuous rain of 3 days in Bangalore last week.

When I got into my car on Monday, I found that the carpet below the floor mat on the driver side was somewhat wet.

Also, on closely examining from inside, I found that the corner of A-pillar felt somewhat wet from inside.

Same was the case on the other side too.

Can anyone throw some light on what can be the reason for this ? Is there something serious to this

rohit.803 Take it for a pressure wash, identify the source of the leak, and then take it to the showroom to get it fixed.

As for damage from the leak, short term the car will start smelling funny. And if you dont fix it for a long time, it will probably rust as well.

IIRC there is some sort of duct from the base of the A pillar which gets blocked with fallen leaves, and this causes water to seep into the cabin. get that cleared at the service center

If the water is coming thru A-pillar,

1 - Get the rubber trim around the door for checked for clogged drains. (get it cleaned thru compressed air)
2 - Also, get the windshield sealing checked for leakage.

Most probably it's the door beading (black rubbering around the gate) that could have failed.
As earlier specified, get the source identified and then act. I think the door beading should be the only culprit.
