Pricing of Sail is on higher side by atleast 30k.

If we compare top models in petrol, Sail (P) is priced almost equal to Swift (P)- difference of 14k only. An essentially Chinese car with an outdated exterior & interior, powered by a humble petrol engine can not be viewed at par with present best seller. Sail should have ideally target Figo & its price should have been just above Figo.

When it comes to diesel, IMHO Figo is the benchmark for VFM diesel car. And in top model to top model comparison, Sail out prices Figo by 60k. Figo has got better features, equally popular engine and terrific handling. Yes, MJD in Sail is probably better engine overall, its ride quality is better and it may be slightly more spacious- but these could no way compensate for the huge difference in price.

Why? because of its pricing close to Swift P?

IMHO, exterior front looks very close to Chevy Cruz and It really doesn't look outdated. Interiors are also good not that bad.

      humble petrol engine

      Swift P has got 1.2 L 87 bhp engine and Sail P got 86 bhp 1.2 L engine ... just 1 less bhp make it a humble?

      9. Safety rating of 4 stars in C-NCAP (China NCAP).
seems to beat the swift in all aspects. Hmmm. Lets see how successful this car is. Hope it makes a big dent in the maruti sales. Swift has been enjoying monopoly in the indian hatch back market.

I have a feeling Figo is gonna face very stiff competition from Chevy Sail as far as the VFM tag goes !! Looks like the Sail has been priced quite well. The top 2 variants (both petrol and diesel) come with ABS ? That is good ! The diesel Multijet engine churning out 78 BHP is gonna be stiff competition for the Figo TDCi and other hatches. The car also appears to be a good handler but that can only be confirmed with a few test drives ! Good additional choice for all hatchback customers - all those eyeing the Figo might now look towards the Chevy Sail as well

Re: Chevrolet Sail twins will replace the Aveo twins in India ( launched at Rs 4.44 lakh)

This car willI not make any sales diminishing of swift. I feel they are over priced by 20K. With this price for the top end they should have provided features like ACC, steering mount control,

Possible that they can bite into Figo's numbers
