VTAK is done. VTEC is RIP with some Auditors now. AND A 7150!!

I'm going to play spoilsport here, so people expecting any sort of wiring / location drama, please navigate away. for reasons which I will elaborate later, I've decided to stick with stock dimension speakers for the VTEC. that would mean 4 [or is it 4.5?] inch speakers up front and whatever it is inches round speakers in the rear.

I do not have any proclivity to hack up this car, be it wiring or speakers. I am also dropping the Pioneer 9650 that I had bought for this one. now I want something with USB support. maybe another one of the 7150s that I love to bits.

so please, fire away any suggestions you may have for stock replacement speakers for an OHC.

OEM speaker shield! I swear they don't make 'em like these anymore. anyway, I want to reuse these and for that purpose, I need speakers that will fit. I measured a front speaker and the cone is 4" wide. the metal frame is around 4.5" and diagonally from hole to hole is around 4.75".
the rear speaker cover is 7.5" wide from end to end and the hump is 6" wide. so I am assuming that the cone is 6" as well.

so there you have it folks. need speakers of similar dimensions.
4" 2 ways up front, 6" circular in the rear, 3 way would be nice.

I think Rockford P142 will fit in that box with spacers. Dimension for P142 are -

      Mounting diameter: 4-1/2
      Cut-out diameter: 4-1/16
      Top-mount depth: 1-3/4"

have tried most of those 4" crap that are there in the market today (<3000 ones i mean and except for the infinity kappa 42.9). not one of them will give you good sound. if you are still ok with that, then i would suggest you get the JBL CS4 (1.5k ) for the front and Rockford Fosgate R1653, 3-way Prime Series which anubhav suggested for the rears. SQ and staging won't be great for sure. "ASS"uming that you won't be getting any sorts of amplifiers or sub-woofers, my suggestion would be to keep the shit as simple as possible and get some entry level pio HU with USB support.

007, I suggest you to plonk atleast 5" coaxials there. I'd say plonk the regular 6" components and get custom made Rain shields from Audio SymPro. Tagging monty9991 paaji.
If 4" coaxials are your only option then I'd suggest you to go for Focal Access 4" coaxials.

Speaker Shield ? Looking at the condition of speakers, i doubt if they had really shield'ed anything.
I respect your idea of using the OEM mounts, but if you care even an Iota for Sound (leave alone sound quality), i think you should do away with this idea and get atleast a 5.25" Speaker with proper spacers.

      Cheers
