Piaggio to bring Moto Guzzi to India

After launching the life style brand Vespa, Piaggio is planning to launch Moto Guzzi in India. Moto Guzzi is a brand which is based on the super bike Aprillia. Internationally Piaggio owns 8 brands and it has a plan to bring at least 4 brands to India.

Moto Guzzi is an Italian brand with retro styling and compete with like of Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson and soon to be launched Triumph.Moto Guzzi is known for its V twin engines that stick out sideways. Moto Guzzi has couple of models and currently there is no news on which model will be launched in India.

Below are the words of Ravi Chopra, Chairman and MD of Piaggio India.

"Our focus today (for future launches) is the scooter segment, which will be under the Piaggio brand (in the low-end segment). To showcase our technology, we are bringing superbikes to India too. The market is small, but robust and growing. Moto Guzzi, which is a world-famous cruiser brand, will also make its way to India"

Below are the some of the images of Moto Guzzi models.

The bike in the 1st pic reminds me of the old school design in the early 60's & 70's ! The 2nd & 3rd are looking macho IMO.

Cylinder placement looking odd to me, isn't there risk of heating felt in the legs? One may burn his legs.

man why is that cylinder coming outside the bike. Will it not burn the knee or thigh of the rider. It is like direct roasting of the rider. Or am I missing something

see the pics clearly, the engine is way in front and right under the tank, also notice the foot peg position, there is no way you will come anywhere close to the engine while riding it.

Guruve, the heat from that engine so close will surely fry not only your knee/thigh even the riders B****

Cylinder is really oddly positioned. When I tried to search a Moto Guzzi photo on Google, could find only 2 pics with the riders, rest all were stand alone pics of the bike which that say all, no one rides this bike

All the points are valid. But dont you think the manufacturers would have tested that bike before the launch? There must be something which we are missing clearly from the pics. They would have surely thought 1000 times about the heat from the engine and regarding the placement of the engine in chassis know?
