      Hunt for Hatch in Pune

      Guys,

My brother who is based out of Pune is looking for a new car (hatchback). I'll keep this short and simple. His requirements are :-

      1. His running would be mainly within city limits BUT he is someone who likes to go on that occasional long drive.
So he is open to both petrol as well as diesel cars.
      2. Budget limit - 8 lacs max. He is NOT keen on sedans.
      3. He is very particular about A.S.S. So this factor ranks high
      4. He is particular about the ride quality (he is prone to backaches)
      5. Maintenance cost (FE, spare parts cost etc) should be reasonable

I have no idea about which dealers are good in Pune (in terms of A.S.S.) so would like to hear from Pune guys on this. Tagging Pune guys Dev11 trustvishwas nick79 xylouser

      Inputs welcome !

Best bet would be Pulse Diesel. Pradeep will be in a good position to highlight the positives

If petrol (monthly running is less), Honda is the best bet (Jazz or Brio). Second option would be Swift/Ritz Petrol (top end model only).

If you are OK with Petrol, you can get a JAZZ X. The seats are very comfort and no point of backaches.

One and only one Maruti Suzuki Swift. - Since A.S.S is main worry than the car itself

If he wants to car that wont give him backache then FIGO and PUNTO.

Beat diesel/petrol is one good hatch that can save good money too.

This is the major requirement. If you/your brother is clear on this requirement then accordingly the best car can be chosen. How many kms/month? If he gets a petrol now and then at a later point in time he shouldn't regret the decision. He has to be absolutely clear on this decision. It's either Petrol or Diesel, you cannot be open to both

This criteria should eliminate Honda from the equation IMHO.

Choices: 1. Punto if FIAT service is good. Pune guys can help in this.

      2. Polo, again with same condition.

      3. Sail, mainly for its outstanding ride quality.

      4. Ritz is ahead of Swift which has sportier/firmer suspension.

      5. Vista. It has also excellent ride quality. Service and quality is suspect though.

you mean honda's suspensions in general are very stiff which causes back aches??
