      June trip from Delhi-Rishikesh-Corbett-Binsar-Chaukori-Naukuchiatal-Delhi

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum. Just found about this a couple of days back and registered immediately.
I am planning a trip with my parents and family including children to Uttarakhand from Mumbai in June. After getting advices from some other forums, I have made the following plan :
      D1 : Mumbai-Delhi-Rishikesh
      D2 : Rishikesh/Haridwar
D3 : Rishikesh-Corbett (Is it good in end of May?)
      D5 : Corbett
      D6 : Corbett-Chaukori
D7 : Chaukori to Patal Bhuvaneshwar and back
      D8 : Chaukori to Binsar
D9 : Binsar surrounding areas (suggest)
      D10 : Binsar to Naukuchiatal
      D11 : Naukuchiatal
D12 : Naukuchiatal to Delhi and back to Mumbai

Plan seems a bit hectic. Maybe I should drop either Corbett or Naukuchital.

Since I am thinking of Rishikesh I had also got a suggestion to drop the Kumaon region and rather stay in Gharwal region. But I did some searching on the net (Mussorie vs Nainital) and most people suggested for Nainital. I am also interested in Khali Estate in Binsar and that was the whole reason the planning for trip started.

Any members have been to Khali Estate? How is it? Any other better places?

Please give your suggestions and advices freely. Thanks.

You can visit but, it will be very hot at that time also it will be the end of season as the park closes on 15th June and will only reopen after 15th Nov.

There is a forest area you can explorer around Binser. Also, You can visit Jageshwar Temple in Almora (After Binser). In Almora, You can also try and stay at "Dhaulchina resorts". It's a good place to stay.

Are you planning a safari in the Corbett? AFAIK most of the Jungles are closed between July to Oct in India. Do the Corbett remain opened during that time?

      It is closed .

According to their site Corbett remains open to tourists from 15th November to 15th June. The main reason for closure of the Park during the rest of the year is that during the monsoons most of the roads get washed away. Repair work starts after the rains end and it is only by November that roads are back in motorable condition.

As per their website only jhirna zone is open for tourist for safari only during day time. They replied to me on email. I am not too much worried about the safari as i have done it previously. The concern is if the roads are ok till dhikuli (where the resorts are). If anyone has been there recently, please advise.

      Thanks

Jhirna is open (Dhikala and the others are closed) but the safaris are subject to rain conditions.

If you're looking for a very different Corbett experience, check out Vanghat Lodge (Vanghat) It takes a walk (2km if you're crossing the river over a bridge and then again on a raft, 5km otherwise) after you park to get to the place, but it's the remotest private property in there on the banks of the Ramganga, built with respect for the forest and the wildlife. There's walks to do around there, and the staff and owner are naturalists and truly love nature. You won't want to do a safari etc once there.

[Full disclosure : we're partnering with these folks and it'll be run as part of our properties, but that's not why I'm recommending it. Am taking the kids there in Oct.]
