Booked a spark for my wife

Hi everyone. I booked a spark LT model this weekend for my wife. It will cost me around 3.65 L after a discount of 34K and additional 4K discount for Govt. Employee (my wife).

The dealer has offered freebies like Central Locking + gear lock + music system + mat + mud flaps + perfume and divinity. I asked him to have wooden finishing interiors instead of central locking (my wife forgets the keys inside) and he agreed for that at an additional Rs. 1,300.

I chose Spark because I was getting lot of features at a very good price + 3 years free maintenance and I thought it's really VFM. I hope my decision is correct?

Should I change the wheels to Alloys - any suggestions and how much it will cost?

Congrats for the new car sir. As you mentioned for an amount of 3.65L if you are getting all the goodies then why not. Wonderful. Co-brother of Matiz.

Bought that thing called spark when it was released.

      Positives.....

Good handling compared to santro etc but not in the league of the old zen.

      Space is very good.

      Good brakes.
      Service is top notch.

      Negatives.......

Engine is not responsive in city ,powerband is in the higher rpm range like the vtec.

Front seats lack thigh support and lean to the front after 1yr.

Fuel efficiency in city with ac not more than 12km.

Ac automatically cuts the compressor when pedal to the metal ie during spirited driving you will start sweating and this car had a huge glass area and you better go for a dark high end sun film.

After some use there are rattle sounds from the front suspension.

Over all its good, you should get used to the power band ,in empty roads it moves .

Hey Shishir. Please - No Sir please.

Thanks frankenstein for your useful tips. My wife would be driving this and she just drives approx 8 Kms a day and she is a slow driver. Hence I guess power band should not be a problem. You said that AC is not very good - that worries me. Is it really bad?

Wait and see about the AC.
It cant be horrible. even if it is, then its easy to fix.

      why change to alloys?

Sorry to say bhupi saab ,the a/c is hopeless,in summer in hyd temp around 40 degrees you start sweating ,if you press the throttle more than 1.5onch the compressor cuts.

Driveng light footed ,when the compressor is working full time ,still it gets too hot inside.

Ripper ,what do you mean by we can fix it .

Me and Tadu tailed a very well driven Spark yesterday night. Both of us were impressed - with the way it accelerated, handled, and its composure at 160+ speeds!

Its very good on the highway and topend is good ,in city traffic below 3000rpm is where the trouble is.

Seriously, its a rocket on highways. We were doing 140+ in Optra in Madikeri-Bangalore road and a Spark with 4 people easily overtook us and just disappeared.
