What is an air mark sensor? Never heard of it before. Are you sure they didn't say MAP/MAF sensor? Do find out what exactly was changed. And can you get the exact error code they saw on the scanner?

Get the showroom to delete all codes... Then go for a drive and see what codes pop up.

With older cars wiring can also become an issue. So if a part is showing defective, try cleaning the respective connectors with a good electrical/electronic contact cleaner spray... I have seen this helps. If the error still continues to show, then maybe you will have to look at replacing the part.

      Posting on behalf of Godfather.

He wants you to change the battery and see if the issue still persists! He had something similar going on his car, changing the battery today sorted out most of his issues is what he says.

I had similiar issues with my endeavour, if mclaren1885 remembers, when we installed the obd scanner and tried to time the 0 to 100 timing the endy was slow as hell, we blamed it in the MT tires, also the check engine light was on, the obd scan showed egr issues.
Last week the batery died, I replaced it with a new amaron battery of same model and ran the endy for 2 days, the pickup is back to normal, check engine light is gone and smoke is reduced.

In my books its worth a try.

Could be also the ECU reset during the battery change that helped...

could be, but i tried resetting the ECU earlier as well, disconnected the terminals for the full night and started in the morning, check engine light came on within 5 mins of driving, after I installed the new battery the check engine light does not come ON even after 2 days of driving. + OBD scan shows no errors.

Most sensors work on voltage.. hence it is possible that any under-reporting or over-reporting of voltage will throw up an error. However, I am wondering - aren't there governors/regulators and such to ensure steady power supply - esp in a running car?
