Go-Karting.. What are your best lap times??

      Hey guys,
A lot of us might have been karting before and just thought we could put up the best lap times that you clocked on this thread. Do mention the lap time and the venue.

I usually head to Torq3 at Marathahalli ORR, BLR. This is my best time as of now..

      This comes to my mind

      This is a 700bhp Lancia S4 (2 litre turbo)

Maybe someone can tell my how to copy it directly into the thread.

Edit: Peter, I have edited the links to show the videos. There is an FAQ on how to do this in the Announcements section.

Patel's Inn - 31.7 on the battered go-karts . The lap record is 30.64 on private karts owned by the owners maintained beautifully. This was on the old layout IIRC. Haven't been there in recent times.

I held the lap record on "one" of the tracks at Freeway 19 for over a year. They had 4 layouts and it would keep changing everyday.

Grips doesn't have a timing equipment, but the guy in charge their said I was as fast as anyone there has been. I remember a friend timing me doing a 30.xx when I was thin . Now I do it in the 33.xxs.

Been to torq3 only twice I guess. Not sure what my lap time was, but was slower than Binz by about 1.3secs.

The lap record for the Raptor karts at Torq3 is 29.xx seconds as told by the guy over there. Im surprised i was only less than a second slower.

And when i checked that thread on TBHP where there was a championship kinda meet at Torq, the fastest time posted was 32.xx seconds.

And I bettered mine from 32.59 to 30.86 on my 2nd attempt in the dry @ Torq03. Enough to actually be 9th on the grid as per the qualifying timings from last weeks Go-karting championship. With a little bit of practice, some weight shedding and correcting a few lines I think I should be able to do a flat 30.

      Binz is the 2nd fastest @ Torq03 with a 29.54

      Lap times at kart cave.

I have seen most of the people posting about torq3, i have never been there but heard a lot about the track.

I did practice a lot a kart cave, in hyderabad for the force india wild card round, living in ahmedabad we don't have a karting place over here, the closest one is 300kms away and a good one is 600kms.

I did 23.8 at kart cave on their normal congestion karts, the kart number 8 during those days was quite fast, almost .5 faster than others. But i did bad on the force india karts, both karts were almost identical but the force india karts were a little slower, both were from indus karts only, i did 24.6 on force india karts. As i went there for the wild card rounds i didn't get selected, as only one driver was to be selected. I finished 4th, behind 3 professionals, 1st parth ghorpade, 2nd mohit ahuja and 3rd was yamir raj who cam all the way from flo rida for the competition. I was still happy, if i look at my lap times i successfully defeated many professionals as well. If i were in 14-17 age group, which had 14 drivers selected, i would have gone through, i would have been third on that list of 148 drivers. Still, i don't care, learned a lot. And i will be racing full season next year.

Kart cave is a nice place, but damn bumpy. The only challenging part are the two hairpins, most of the drivers get on throttle early and oversteer while some just overshoot and miss the apex because just before that its too bumpy, but its damn fun on turn 3, difficult to go full throttle at the first attempt but once you get the hang of it and try its quite awesome, because sometimes you get into oversteer and miss the tyre wall by inches while still holding the steering in opposite lock. :smoking****:

I have probably done around 20 laps on a Go-Kart in my whole life.

My best lap time Torq03 is 34:31.

IIRC my timing in ezone near Marathalli was 1.26. I remember that day, I had called mclaren1885 to tell this number
