Mahindra recalls XUV500 for free replacement of certain parts

Mahindra will carry out replacement of some parts in a select batch of XUV500s manufactured during 2011 & 2012. The parts which would be replaced will include:

      • Fluid hose
      • Front power window units
      • Left wiper blade cover

Source : Mahindra XUV500 SUV 2011-2012 recall for replacement for certain parts

So XUV owners, buckle up and head towards your nearest Mahindra service station.

Unfortunately there is no mention about brakes. Hope they come with some effective remedy for brakes as well.

Mine is included in this check. Infact this Tuesday when i went to service station to get that front plastic cover changed, my RM told me that they need to change Fluid hose. But since i was running late, hence i told them to pick my car up once i let them know.

Here's the link to check if your XUV is included in this recall.

I agree with you Jack, i hope they come with good brakes and suspension.

Brake we all know, but whats with suspension? AFAIK XUV has one of the best suspension setup in SUV/Crossover/MUV segment.

There is a peculiar rattling noise from the mount. I think its a issue with the bush.

My friend just sent me the scanned copy of the Mahindra letter. In the copy only Fluid hose is mentioned that too on certain 2011/2012 vehicles.

I am really surprised with the recall. There are many problems commonly known to all the customers which badly needs to be addressed. There is not even a mention of brake pads. I was expecting them to recall it post fixing, which I believe is done. Are they considering that desperate customers would drop down if they need??? Why isnt there any official confirmation about the brakes issue??

7xkaushal, If Mahindra has a solution to their brakes they would've included that in this recall... Hang on, they're still doing their R & D to get it right

Thanks for sharing this Jacky. I got a SMS from Mahindra with the following content. Also my RM was informing about the 5th generation of brake pads coming [For testing on our vehicles ]

You have received this SMS as an alert for field service action on your XUV500. Please contact your Dealer / Relationship Manager for details - Regards M & M Customer Care

Thank God they have waken up. I must say things have been on the mend across the motoring industry for quite some time. I remember my father's 118NE (1987?). It was chewing the disc pads and finally after 18 months (out of warranty of course) they did a recall to replace the master cylinders. I had sent feedback twice that they had a problem with residual pressure on the discs (from the Master Cylinder) but those days PAL knew all.The fools did not realise than this was their fist car with discs and they know nuts about specific issues with discs. Of course we lost about Rs.1500 (2x750) in this period!

Received official letter from Mahindra regarding recall. It says oil seepage in engine line is associated to Power steering and has got nothing to do with engine. But it does not mention anything about wiper blades or power windows.
