      DRL for style quotient

DRLs must switch on with the vehicle ignition and switch off when the vehicle sidelights are switched on. However, i have seen people are now demanding more than functionality, and wish to have lights that not only heighten safety, but also add style and maximise road presence.DRLs must switch on with the vehicle ignition and switch off when the vehicle sidelights are switched on. I just don't like them. They seem to serve no purpose. I am sorry if you like them. I just don't.

pity .. if same thing comes in Fiat .. it will be best thing ever happened in the automobile industry or new safety or style standard.

Anyways, I am using Original Philips DRL, not some cheap Chinese product from ebay. IMO, it's a must product for every car in India, where everyone chooses to ignore oncoming traffic or jumps lane or cross road without looking at the traffic. A good DRL gives much better visibility to other in day light and in a traffic pile-up.

I have not installed light for any show .. I have installed it for safety.

Well Ironhide i still believe that most of the people in India are using DRL's (or u may say LED Decorative Lights) as a means of showoff and they are hardly concerned about the safety aspect of it. Also regarding the safety point of view the DRL's really add to it in the evening when their light is easily visible. In Indian conditions where the traffic is so much i dont think the DRL's serve great purpose at daytime.

For the matter I also have DRL's installed in my Rapid but i have connected it so that it comes on with the parking lights as i find it most useful in evenings.

I wonder why whoever considers DRLs to be a safety device can't just use parking light? This will also lit up the taillamps. More safety than DRLs! Parking light not bright enough? Just add brighter bulbs!

Very poor taste! There's no need to light up a Fiat bashing thread.

Because parking bulb (incandescent) have very low intensity of 100 - 130 Cd. Howevevr, a good DRL are have minimim Light intensity of 1000 Cd (Candela)

Eg - A light measured at 120 candela is roughly equal to the light emitted by a 100-watt light bulb.

      What Is a Candela?

You don't have to tell me about "my taste". Keep your comments with yourself. Are you spokesperson for Fiat owners? I think, they can discuss the topic themselves.
