      Passage to India

It took me 50 years of preparation and finally it is prepared (good things take time). Only one thing I didn't factor in, which might make it impossible to make my first trip to India:

      Katla

Acouple of weeks nobody even know what Katla is. It is the only terrorist that gets away with mass destruction. Anyway, I hope Katla doesn't strike.

What other way I could take than the traditional one of a foreigner who wants to come to India? Of course I have to come to Mumbai first.

If time would allow I would this time visit other parts of the country, but with only 5 days it would be a bit to much. I just want to get a taste of the Indian soil in order to want to come back and explore the country more and of course to prepare the performance tuning side of live.

So far ready is my suitcase. Usually I do only travel (when going by airplane) with a pilot case. But thzis time I need a suitcase. So, it is a big thing for my to have a suitcase. You wonder why? I need to bring along some test inductiom kits.

What I haven't done yet is getting a visitors Visa. I just hope it isn't lengthy and difficult to get.

I am off to find out what to do to get the Visa.

      To be continued.

      You are absolutely right.

I am so excited and busy with preparation that I completely forgot to write about it.

At the moment I am trying to find out what the stroke and bore of the 1.2 FIRE engine in India is. No information on any sit. Not even Fiat has any info. I wonder whther this is a typical Fiat one and the capacity is 1242cc.

Otherwise I am working on all the engines I can get my hands on to prepare that I can start complete tuning packages.

My flight is booked, but I still haven't got a Visa.

I hope to sort it this week.

1242cc was the old FIAT Palio engine. The new 1.2 engine is 1172cc (petrol engines need to be below 1200 cc to enjoy lower excise duties)

But is it 1172cc? Knowing the Italians they claim it is but it might still be 1242! I can't find anywhere bore or stroke. I have not even seen on eper (Fiat's parts disk).

It is only 2 weeks to go now and I need:

      HELP

I could that much squeeze out of my brother that we are staying at the Mumbai Kempinsky, where ever it is. Now you specialists of the real life in India have to tell me where I will find the real India:

      Food and heritage.

Is it worth going for a day as far as Pune (we haven't got much more than a day to go away from Mumbai)?

      Any interesting places?

There are lots of places around Mumbai. Jusr reach here first and ask anyone on the road side they will tell you what all places you can see
