      i10 got hit underbelly

      Hi All,

Yesterday while taking right turn on busy road was unable to see that the road is broken and caved in(unknow place for me), the opposite motorist was signaling and I couldn't understand and damm go hit under belly as soon as the two tyres fallen there, anyway took the turn and stopped by for any damage and couldn't found any, after that I had driven for 50KM and was not seen or observed any change. Please let me know whether i should go for under body check or continue.

      TIA
      Prashant

Depends on how hard the impact was. If it was a scrape at very low speed, I don't think there is anything to worry about. If it was anything more than that, i.e., there was some kind of thud noise on impact and the speed was more than crawling speed, then it is probably better to go to HASS and get the underbody checked. Maybe even doing a detailed visual check yourself can be fine, if you have access to a ramp, like a car wash centre. Damage, if any, better attended to right away than wait for it to get worse. If nothing else, it will give you peace of mind.

      Hi Prashant,
It would be good to take the vehicle to the HASS. Tell them that the car got hit underbelly and want to check the damages. They will lift your car in front of you.
If the hit is on the running board left/right side, then nothing much to worry as the impact will mostly be taken by the side walls, one which is used to lift the vehicle using the jack.
But if it is a stone or something and the impact was on the centre, then better to take it to HASS. They will do it for free. I've done once.

You can come to know by examining the side walls underneath. In worst case, it could have dented.
It use to happen a lot for me as there are constructions going on the roads and while switching from service road to the main road, I used to get those hits plenty of times.

Hi, yes it was in crawling speed, and i guess the hit was in the center , sure will take it to the MASS for inspection then.

as far my observation I don't see any vibrations, no wheel alignment issues, checked on highway leaving steering in straight speed.
checked in morning under car for any oil leakage and found none.

thanks guys for the quick response.
      Regards
      Prashant

I am not sure MASS will attend to your i10.

Did you own a Maruti before and have upgraded to i10?
