I had a doubt whether the colour would match the doorpads but the colour matches fine.

Smile Update at 3650 km

have calculated FE thrice till now by tankful method -

first time- 14.5kmpl
second time- 13kmpl
third time ( manual mentions to calculate fuel efficiency only after 3000 kms so this one counts the most ) - 16.02-16.6 kmpl

Usage - 70% city with 100% AC on

and i have been making no attempt to get good FE in fact after 2500kms i have been holding gears and revving the car a lot more
Will be very happy if the car continues to give 16.5kmpl in city with AC on

ICE,parking sensors, gear lock installation still pending

Have you turned the steering all the way to the left or right when you took the picture? The steering wheel seems odd.

Petroholic,

Wanted to know whether the K12 M series engine is timing belt or chain driven? I am a bit confused here. I think its belt driven but some of my friends say its chain driven. Can you confirm?

Thanks,

Guys need a quick advice from all of you .Yesterday was at a local accessory shop to get parking sensors and roots horns installed in my ritz. Was looking at some ICE and the accessories guy ( who seems to know me personally ) suggested to put this HU for 1200/-.This was taken down from a brand new bolero because the owner wanted an upgrade.

+ves -
• its kenwood
• brand new, just 1200/- ,
• Even if I add 2 speakers for 1500/- I get an ICE for just 2700/-
-ves -
• no usb only an aux and cd ,
• red colour backlit etc won’t match the orange coloured lights on ritz dash

Also guys have a pair of old 4 inch speakers but the slots in the car are 6” .Any DIY I can do to mount them onto the rear doors.I will just buy a pair of new JBL’s for around 1500/- and use them in front. These can go at the back just for the sake of having some sound.I googled but couldn’t find any DIY to mount small speakers into larger slots.Although the viceversa is available aplenty.I think I can get some ply / fibreglass. Mount these speakers on it .Cut the board according to the slots in the car.And mount those boards in the slot. Will probably stick some foam on the board to prevent rattling. What say guys?

Update at 6500 kms / 7.5 months : second service done

Wanting to update my ownership reviews from quite some time but I suffer from a disease called extreme lazyness

Anyways The car is at 6250 kms.

Second service was done at 4900kms. Nothing major was done in the free service and it involves just basic checkup .My father took her for servicing and the next day i notice that MASS guys had left a lot of scratches on the hood. Was able to remove some by rubbing compound. But was saddened to see how these people treat our beloved cars.

Strangely after the second service the car has become more responsive.Maybe the engine has opened up after 5000kms.
Now some pics with details.

1 Got rear parking sensors installed : smartkey make, silver colour matches perfectly, displays the distance and a speaker on the C pillar speaks it out, costs Rs 1800/-
No wiring was stripped/cut , something called locks were used and the installation was very neat. Was there the whole time to check on the installer as I have had very bad experiences with accessories dealers before.

2 Got Roots windtone 90 horn installed for Rs 800 ( i think i was charged more for this )
The horns were a direct fit after replacing the OEM horns. The sockets of roots horns are the same as OEM horns.
This is unlike my honda city in which wiring was stripped.
I find the horns OK . I feel bosch symphony installed in my honda are better.Roots seem to be less loud and have a more deep and pleasing sound. The bosch are shriller ,loud and do a better job of clearing traffic.Apart from the details both sound like polo/vento horns.

Guys I havnt fixed a relay with these horns. Is it required ? Read somewhere that these are 5 ampere horns ( which is true ) and anything more than 4 ampere should be fixed with a relay.
And one more thing everywhere i have read that Roots windtone 90 are better than bosch/minda etc.I dont feel that way.Is there some problem with the installation ( like overtightening/undertightening of clamps etc )

3 Bangs and dings which are part and parcel of our traffic

ICE still pending.

General views about the car after 7 months: both positive and negative

1 Good engine : if driven enthusiastically you will never feel lack of power. The engine and gearbox is smoother after 5000km.
2 Good Ground clearance.
3 Paint quality not up to the mark.Minor rub completely removes the paint to sheetmetal.
4 barebones.Lots of accessories have to be added.Grande i10 / nissan micra active and honda brio offer much more features
5 Good comfy seats.Much better than brio.
6 Quality of plastics in interiors is average : honda and hyundai hatches much better

Neat installation indeed.. Congratz. Btw I have been thinking of ordering the com-paint value pack for quite sometime now, if could you please post before and after of scratches, so that we can understand how well the com-paint pen kit has worked. Thanks.

Value pack kit has canned paint which has to be sprayed on theareas you want.
Paint pen kit is better since it can be applied like a normal marker.
One way to cover up single isolated scratches using value pack kit will be to spray the paint on a flat surface.Use brush/earbud to apply the paint on the scratches.
Hence value pack kit is more suitable for larger areas not isolated scratches.

Sorry don't have before pics. But if you see the pics posted above closely you can clearly make out the areas I have covered using the paint pen. These areas were black before as the paint was removed till bare metal.
