      Honda Amaze 1.5 i-Dtec E

Starting this thread before the actual delivery of the car.

We had requested for inspection of the car before the actual delivery. The dealer, Dakshin Honda obliged and yesterday we visited their yard on Hosur road. People at the dealership were cordial and answered our queries patiently.

      Findings :

      - ORVMs :

Till then, we had not seen the E MT version (base version). They had an E MT, in showroom and the differences were not deal breaker. But, only yesterday we learnt that :

      1. ORVM that comes with E MT are Maruti 800 type. Earlier we were told that we wouldn't get body coloured ORVM (and can get it painted for around 3-4K- including door handles) but in reality its completely different.

      2. Honda doesn't provide for any in-car ORVM adjustment(like in Maruti/Tata) other than electric, which is available only in highest variant and costs whopping 30K! Other variants do get body coloured ORVMs but are housed in a bigger box which still need manual adjustment by lowering window glass.

      - Tyres :

Car comes shod with Goodyear tyres.
Please suggest is this fine(compared to MRF) or does it warrant an upgrade? Please suggest a good place for tyre upgrade.

      - Engine :

Nothing much to write. Engine bay was reasonably clean and didn't sound too loud for a diesel mill. Took pictures of engine/chassis number embossed and it matches with assigned number for my bro. Being a new product didn't bother to check the manufacturing month etc.

Surprising bit is despite all the cost-cutting, engine has a nice cover!

Couldn't make out the copper coloured thingy.. doesn't looks like an Exhaust Header.

      - Build :

Reasonably okay. Didn't sit inside the car as the ground was wet and dirty and it would have made the car a mess.
Boot is wide and neat place(no protruding stuff) but it looks as if Honda forgot to put a liner on inside of the boot lid. Looks incomplete. Planning to get something to cover this. Spare tyre is of same make and size as others.

Booking and sale has been done in Lavelle road Showroom and planning to take delivery from Hosur road Showroom as it is nearer to us. Might take delivery in next few days. SA has informed rise in price that was announced by Honda but brother had already made the payment of around 4 lacs by then. So need to check with dealer about the final price(should be around 7.6 lacs onroad for non-metallic E variant).
Planning to update the thread with better pics and driving impressions once we get the delivery of the car and do a small trip.

Need help in sourcing mudflaps, reverse parking sensor and tyre upgrade. #bangalore
      Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on buying a new car. Honda Amaze captured lot may eye balls and initial sale in line with the capacity planning by Honda. Early Feedback appears good. one of my former colleague had bought AMAZE Petrol, He was happy with the car. Diesel AMAZE users are yet to become vocal on-line.

Look forward to read your experience. I think HONDA will leave no stones un-turned to make it a pleasant one, hopefully.

Would like to know which Goodyear tires you have? GT3 or other?
I had GT3's on my Figo & it served pretty well(clocked 35K Kms).

If tire upgrade, go with Hercules Tyres. You can contact Saravanan.
      I upgraded from Goodyear GT3 175/65 R14 to Bridgestone MY-02 185/60 R14 recently.
If you are planning to stick with 14" wheels, that could be the best choice.
You can read more about the tire here.
      Tyre Review- Bridgestone MY-02

What kind of mudflaps you are looking for?
There are lot of showrooms out here which offer different varieties of those.
By the by aren't they(Honda/Dealer) not giving the mudflap as an accessory?
If you want an aftermarket one try with Sachin's Autoshop Koramangala or any other which is close to your place.
Same is the case with Reverse Parking Sensor too.
