Post Ritz VDI or Wagon-R Vxi? EDIT: Booked Ritz VDI

      Hi Friends,

I am looking to buy a car now. my budget is limited - around 5 Lakhs.

I wants reliability and cheaper service costs a priority.

My running is around 1000-1200kms approximately. so, I guess petrol car is an option? intend to keep the car for 5 years.

so, the two options I have:

      1) less than 2 years old Ritz VDI. I checked one 2012/april model with 9600kms only ran asking price Rs5.6 lakhs and guess it will come for Rs5.4 lakhs.

      2) new Wagon-R Vxi. I think it costs around 4.75 lakhs in Kerala.

so, the difference I believe is only at maximum 75,000 rupees only.

what is a good option? it is for a family car and they need a spacious car and easy to get-in and get-out of the car.

      thanks

I would prefer a new car any day. Since you you intend to keep it for 5 years, new car definitely makes more sense. You would get 2-3 years of warranty (read peace of mind).

Doesn't the lower end petrol swift/ritz fall in your budget? And are you looking only at Maruti? Why not a figo?

I inititally booked at Indus Muvattupuzha for Ritz VDI and MGA accessories. however, they have enough Ritz in stock may 2013 VIN. I aspire getting the latest car(transit).
@Kerala gearheads: Kottayam dealer AVG can get me a transit vehicle with latest VIN. shall I go ahead?

BTW, Ritz is the biggest looser in May 2013 sales for Maruti IINM - 42.5% from around 4400 in april to 2400 range in may! . any suggestions I liked the car but looking for peace of mind. Reliability and Resale value after 5 years. suggest any other option for diesel? I don't want to touch Honda Amaze as first time releases even if it is Jap is risky for people like me.

      Hey there,
assumming that the figure is per month I would straight away say go for a diesel. HAve you considered a Fod Figo diesel in EXI trim?

I am looking only for maruti cars. cannot afford service charges like 10,000 for a paid service.

Guys, any suggestions about this. confused to see Ritz selling very low numbers. otoh, Can I get a bargain price? it is offered in 20,000 discount+ corp. discount.

Hey there, I would say go with the 2012 Ritz VDI or the FIGO EXI TDCI as suggested earlier. You never know , your running may increase in the next 5 years.

Are you sure one has to pay 10,000 INR for a paid service for a ford? The first service bill for my Ford Figo was not more than 1500 approx. That too because I purchased an accessory

Well, wait! Ford EcoSport is here! Though, it will be more expensive to maintain due to the higher service charges than Ford Figo, obviously! So I am not recommending it, but due to the pricing of EcoSport, other vehicle manufactures may have to plan some drastic steps which may includes additional free accessories or discount offers! Wait for that!

Ritz is a good reliable and proven car on Indian roads. Has good FE, fun to drive and truly, not expensive to maintain.

BTW, I don't think there are Figo-D owners who have paid Rs 10,000/- for any of their general paid services, though exception, may be!
