Technically, ok as long as the remap also does not increase rail pressure. The code6 map on this car for instance does not increase rail pressure in any substantial way.

But then, rail pressure can also be increased from the map. Why do you want to waste money to buy a tuning box when the "tooner" can do that for you for no extra charge, in the tune?

      Short answer is No.

Rail pressure tuning boxes barely get you any increases in peak power, for this car. The same reason we dont increase rail pressure in the tune for these cars. The other reason is, what power we want and more can be achieved by increasing injection quantities(injectors open early, and stay open for longer), and the injectors are no where near their 100% duty cycle in this case.

Fuel/Rail pressure is usually used only as a second class alternative when the injectors in the car are too small, and the car owner does not want to pay for larger size injectors. In other words, once the injectors become the limiting factor, and there is no budget to change them, you could use fuel pressure to get some additional fuel into the combustion chamber, but the amount of extra fuel that can be injected is limited from fuel pressure increase...

The car has now run about 64000 kms with the remap. The odo now reads 78XXX in 2 years and ten months.

Another December went by with another trip up north.

      Did, Bangalore - Tumkur - Hubli - Belgaum - Pune - Bombay - Vapi - Ahmedabad - Jaipur - Ajmer - Delhi - Chandigarh and back to Bangalore via, Delhi - Agra - Jhansi - Gwalior - Sagar - Nagpur - Hyderabad - Bangalore.

Roads are good all the way till Chandigargh. The Jaipur - Ajmer stretch is beautiful to drive on. Around 2860 km with toll paid worth Rs.3107. Passing through Mumbai with all the truck traffic was painful.

Return journey was about 2488 kms with toll of Rs. 2633. This route is much better than last year. The Hinganghat - Adilabad section is patched up with no potholes, but still not in the best of shape. Had a tough time covering Agra on my way back due to zero visibility. Had to literally crawl for about 20 kms. Witnessed lot of vehicles involved in accidents in this stretch, some overturned.

Thanks to piyush7243 for helping me with the route options.

Total Distance Covered :- 5406 kms
Total Fuel Filled :- 257 lts
      MID indicated FE :- 22.6 km/ltr
      Actual FE :- 21 km/ltr

The second pic is for the return journey alone.

Also, lot of changes happened in the past couple of months.

I had accumulated the required hardware for a quad projector setup on the Punto over a period of time. I wanted to replicate what metal_thread had done on his Punto. The daylines were also bought from him couple of months back. Also, had procured the Mini H1 6.0s. So, while I was in Chandigargh, finally took the plunge and got the quad setup done. All thanks to metal_thread and his installer JP, who worked for two days in the night with temperatures going south of 10 degrees. Would recommend them to anyone who would want to do a projector retrofit on their headlights. Also, got sequential indicators from Rajat. Think, a few on the forum have already got their projector retrofits done from metal_thread & shyamhegde.

The car looks much better with the new headlights and lights up the entire road much better than the 100/90 on a dark section. Now, in the night, you flash from behind and almost everyone gives you way.

We wanted to replace the outer glass with stock one but didn't do it as it had already faded. Will be getting new outer glasses and will be changing them soon with the help of shyamhegde. Proper alignment of projectors is pending and Shyam will be handling that as well.

It was time to change the tyres as they were in real bad shape. Decided to change the alloys as well. It was a no brainer with the VFM option offered by Momo in 98pcd. Sriharsha was keeping me updated on the status of their shipment with stock of alloys. Decided to go ahead with the Momo Revenge, matt black in 16 inch with 205/55 R16 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tyres. Had to go with 205/55 R16 as there were no good tyre options in 205/50 R16, which would have been the ideal upsize.

The tyres are a little less grippier than the MAZ1s, but does the job. They are a lot more comfortable than the MAZ1s as well and way less noisy.

Thanks to sriharsha & mclaren1885 and Hercules Tyres for helping me with the tyres and alloys.

It was a pleasure to have Biju bro here. What a sport this man is, hats off and respect !! I would love to meet you again, a very down to earth person. Those dayline mod is hell of a job, now I guess even Biju bro must be knowing it well ;-)
Amazing choice of alloys, it totally transformed the looks of your GP. Love it. I wish I could see it in person here as Iam also getting tempted to shift to 16inchers
Once again, Iam so glad that I got a chance to meet you and to work for you. Someone coming so far that too all alone is a first for me, atleast here, even for me, its unimaginable to drive so much. Amazing !!

      Cheers.
If you can park it and not turn around to look at it

YOU HAVEN't BOUGHT THE RIGHT CAR !!

the 16" Momo Revenge might make me to save for them. after seeing the pic the stock alloy looks very bad .

Projectors changed the look of the car, do you have the pic of roads lit up with projectors? I am in double mind whether to go for auxiliary lights or projector set up as 100/90 isnt effective sometime.

Aux lights will spoil the looks of the beauty. Go for Projector setup from Xenonplanet.in. You can discuss with metal_thread on which model will suit your requirements.

Don't have a picture now. Will post a pic/video once I have the projectors properly aligned. These are definitely better than a 100/90 setup.

Auxiliary lights may spoil the look of the car. Daylines with projectors is a lot of hard work. If you are going for projectors, would recommend a setup with single projector per side on stock HL's, as it is easier to install and align the projectors.
