      Race Date: 16 May 2010
      Number of Laps: 78
      Circuit Length: 3.340 km
      Race Distance: 260.520 km
      Lap Record: 1:14.439 - M Schumacher (2004)

      Previous Winners
      2009 - J Button
      2008 - L Hamilton
      2007 - F Alonso
      2006 - F Alonso
      2005 - K Raikkonen

The 6th race of the season, the Monaco GP comes up in a weeks time. Since its a tight street circuit, even the slower teams like Renault, Force India and Toro Rosso will be up there with the Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari and RBR. The only reason someone is gonna win here is if they qualify well, cuz overtaking is next to impossible.

      The procession!

The guaranteed, procession only race in F1 history.

Ok, almost every race in the near past F1 seemed to be a procession without rains. But this one was always what it was. Start to finish in the same order!

If there is any race with the maximum, eccentric levels of celebrityism, glamour and money, this is it.

Qualifying is where all the attention will be.
Otherwise, there is nothing to look forward on the racing front. Ofcourse, if Schumacher decides to stop for a beer in between qualifying like he had done once earlier, then we may have some controversies added in to make the race look actionous and cracker filled.
Crashes onto the very close walls, skid efects etc... May add some excitement to the race, yet the order may not change by much from the qualifying.
Rain can also play some good effects in but then the on lookers from the nearby decks and yachts would pray otherwise.
There are some newbie teams this year. That may add some pitlane fireworks for all those who wants some excitement from the so called F1 circus 2010.

So, who will crash first onto the tire wall??
      Let us start a poll.

Going by the current weather reports, rain could very much be a possibility

If the pace set by the Red Bulls in any indication, expect Vettel to be on pole and Webber to share first row with him. Either ways, one of the Red Bulls should walk away home with the win!

Pace doesn't matter much on this track, and that is why i said its more like everybodys game. Even the slower teams could very well fight for a podium finish.

Pace does matter on this track. Especially for qualifying.
And with whatever pace, skills, control and whatever.... If you get the pole, well you have won it 90%. Rest of the 10% is upto you to lose!

All you have to do is see which cars have won Monaco in the last 4yrs. Surely the cars that had the best pace through the first half of the season. Fonso with Renault, Lewis with Mclaren and Button in the Brawn.

There was a proposal to split the qualifying session between the faster and slower contenders so that the slow runners (Lotus, HRT, Virgin) don't block the faster drivers from setting a good time and also to avoid traffic problems. In last race's qualifying, the quickest of Lotus' cars lapped more than 3.2s adrift of pace-setter Mark Webber, whilst the HRT of Senna was almost 6s away.

This has however, been turned down by Lotus so it wont come into effect this weekend.
