Lightbulb From Swift Vdi to ....Figo/Liva???

I own a Swift Vdi which clocked 72K KM and is 5.5years old.

I was thinking of buying a "new" car. Will be self driven.

I drive about 1.5K KM each month. Mostly city and suburbs with some really messed up roads. Not interested in a sedan as parking space is a constraint everywhere. Also, will be mostly occupied by me only and in the weekends by 3 members (including me).

      Criteria is

      i) Diesel
      ii) Hatch
      iii) <7L OTR
      iv) Good ASS
      v) F.E - I'm getting 16-17KMPL with my Swift. The new car should match that or better that.
      vi) Cheap to maintain

Most importantly I should not miss the FTD feel of the Swift D.

      Shortlisted Figo and Liva.

      So, suggestion guys ?

      Ford EcoSport D.

No point in getting FigoD after SwiftD.

Well can't predict anything about EcoSport on this criteria!

Being a newly launched vehicle I'm a bit skeptical about it.

Ford EcoSport-Diesel is better one than Figo or Etios any day in terms of built quality and all. I hope it will follow the same suit of Duster and Innova where the price of vehicle gets increased in long run.

well, its obvious. You can wait as you have Swift-D. Wait for 3-4 months, book and get delivery after 2-3 months.

But wouldn't that be in 8L territory? I'm pretty fixed on the budget.

      Yes it would cross 8L.
If you are not going driving much in ghats and need more space then Liva it is.
Handling in figo is better than liva. Toyota after sales service better than Ford and both the cars give FE more than the level you have mentioned.

Figo & Liva can not match FTD factor of Swift. But between the two Figo is a better option if since it is dynamically superior. It can be re-mapped later to improve the power output.

You can also check out Vista D90, just to be sure about your choices.

Archat, why a hatch again? If you already owned a Swift, buying another hatch is no "upgrade".

Know that and as I have already removed VW'/Skoda from my list I know my choices are limited for a diesel hatch.

Regarding why hatch, the car is singly occupied most of the time. The additional space is a sedan will hardly be used. Also, finding a parking space is easier for a hatch.

Although, my Swift rattles like hell (I've to get it fixed every 2/3 month), the doors do not produce that thump but I'm spoiled by the cheap spares and the DDiS engine. Since you owned a Swift D you'll know that. Although Figo and Liva are both good cars the FTD factor is nowhere near the Swift. Swift is purely a driver's car. No offense meant to either Figo/Liva owners.
