WTF!! I am sure these vehicles will be cleaned up and passed to customers. Renault wont hold responsibility for the conditions at dealer's yard and no dealer will be willing to bear this loss.

On a related note, my colleague's X1 got stuck in a hydrostatic lock in Kerala. BMW service quoted 1.5 lakhs for repairs.

I wonder if these vehicles engine will work normally ever again. Form water level it seems, it must have entered in every part of the engine. Also How irresponsible is Renault management, they should have tried to move these vehicles to a safe location

AFAIK, dealer yard vehicles are usually insured. Buyers still beware!

      +1.
Around a year ago, there was a fire accident in Bilaspur's Hyundai Dealership. Around 8-9 i10s and i20s were burned. Some of them were completely damaged and some had only paint damaged. The whole lot was auctioned off by the Insurer and the Dealer got his claim.

I doubt they will be able to hide water damage on these cars. I have seen the inside of cars after floods and they are full of mud. New cars are written off here and the insurance pays out. A few years ago, 300 brand new Nissan cars were taken to the scrapyard after they got sprayed by salt water on the way from Japan. These cars were pressed under the watchfull eyes of customs officials as tax was not paid on them.

These are usually insured. they will be auctioned off if Im not wrong. Customers wont get these cars unless the dealer is deliberately wanting to do so.
