This guy has lost his mind. removing ABS & Airbags to improve safety. What a Joke.
Now in Road accidents only pedestrians are affected, if we remove ABS & Airbags, the Car passengers will be affected. LOL

Can't he just understand that all these accidents in Kerala are due to lack of driving discipline & narrow two lane roads. & no paths for pedestrians.

if i get a chance t meet this guy i am sure gonna speak with him about these kind of stupid move.

The below is the comment from maverick-seby with a nice humorous touch on MVD's decision on banning the audio systems in vehicles. I do not think the KER MVD have started looking at banning ABS, Airbags, A/C etc ... not yet!
Wish their counter-parts (PWD/NHAI etc) had the same stringent mentality in maintaining the roads and related infra.

Its same as free music download. Next things which are causing the rest of pedestrian deaths and will be banned are as follows :

ABS and Airbags - This must be removed in the near future, MVD will start clamping on cars with these facilities, drivers are driving their car in high speeds due to safety factor resulting in bikers and pedestrians getting killed.

GPS - Before this gadget came in, drivers used to stop and ask for directions resulting in low speeds, now a days people knows their paths in advance and they drive in higher speeds.

Airconditioning - Drivers doze off due to the cold climate inside which results in reduced concentration.

Sunglasses - MVD officials and Police cannot see the drivers eyes, they might be sleeping while driving.

What we require are wider roads. The undivided eranakulam - trivandrum stretch is a menace. proper divided dual carriageway will reduce accidents to a huge extend.

Should ban guys driving while Not drunk. A guy driving when high will be a happy person and not have road rage, hence safer.

Kerala Joke of the year 2013. First let the authorities correct the potholes in the famous mannuthy-kuthiran stretch.
I have one more suggestion to make to the authorities. Instead of removing airbags, a/c, GPS, music system and sunglasses, ban cars on indian roads so that no pedestrians will ever be killed.

All girls and women up to a certain age should wear burkha. I am sure quite a lot of accidents happen due to ogling by drivers. Drivers should have perfect 20/20 eyesight. Wearing glasses are banned, especially dark ones. Power steering, power brakes, etc should be removed with immediate effect. Both provide "comfort factor" to drivers resulting in careless driving. In Kerala roads, it will be good to remove shock-absorbers. Nobody can even blink while driving and orthopedics will get good income.

Punishment for drivers who break rules will be to drive on Kuthiran section 4 times up and down in a 2000 Esteem at night without shock-absorber, power-assists, music, a/c, etc. Don't blame Rish Raj Singh if we see him soon (after his treatment) lining up in front of the consulate of Somalia for an immigrant visa.

It is better to sit in jail rather than drive on that section

Update from today's Manorama newspaper :: Kerala MVD has clarified that car stereos and TV's must be removed from big trucks and buses and not from our cars. For buses, contract carriers like the ones which does trips to outside the state can retain the entertainment systems.
