      zen suspension

can anybody help me with my queries..

on my last visit, MASS said car's suspension is due for overhaul. after the recent tyre upgrade to Potenza G3s i feel the suspension has become 'loose' and soft. car has done 77K + kms so far.

also while changing the tyres i noticed that the rubber bottle shaped thingy on front right suspension is cracked.

what is this thing ? and is it the cause for the loose, bouncing around feeling?
also what are my options for suspension upgrade and possible cost?

Seems to me that is the shock absorber. Best to replace.

70k kms+ running in bangalore, I am inclined to believe the MASS may be right. However, you can avoid complete overhaul if you know the symptoms of each part. For instance, if you change the bushes and linkages, then generally most of the problems disappear for most suspensions. Lower arms generally do not require a replacement since they last pretty long. Suspension becoming loose.. does this feel occur by chance when you are turning the steering and the whole car sways around? Or is general... in the sense that the there is certain bounciness. Any noises when going over bad roads?
