Alloy wheel and tyre upgrade for my Car -Nissan X Trail ,T31

Today finally I decided to give some time to see alloy wheels for my car.
Let me explain my car comes with OE size alloys specs as below
      Radius of wheel = 17 "
      with 6.5" j width and
      5 hole
      hub dia. 66.1MM
      with PCD 114.3 MM

      Offset (ET) = 45 MM

As their are very few tyres available in R17 size with 65 profile, I decided to reduce with R16 alloy .
Their are many tyre options available in R16 size.
Below are few of models from various brands available for R16 size

What I am searching in R16 is as below

      R16 with 7" J width
      PCD 114.3 MM five Hole
      with offset (ET) 40MM
below are images of these alloys.

      waiting for comments.

Why do you want to add hub centric rings? IMO try to find perfect fit alloy which directly fits. That will be more reliable and safer.

Alloys are also looking nice, choose one with chunky spokes which enhances the macho look to the SUV.

Stick to the OEM alloys. They would be of far superior quality vis-a-vis these Plati and League ones.

Alloy wheel matching to OE hub dia are not easily available. Hence I need to think on hub centric rings.

My OE are R 17" and I am shifting to R16. OE Nissan R16 will cost me @Rs.40000/-Each after order.
Do you have any bad experience about these League or plati alloys.?
      Thanks.

      Hi AWB,

      Nice collection you saw there

      So these are my thoughts:

      - Choose the design which you like. Prefer if you can get a set of 5 alloys.

      - I am assuming you are a little worried about whether the alloys will take on abuse? Although there is a general consensus that the korean/taiwan made alloys are not as strong as the more reputed brands like BBS/OZ/Momo/Borbet's etc.; but so far I have faced no issues with these. I have a set of lenso's on the figo currently, 'onyx' brand alloys on my brother's ritz (with 55 profile tyres btw), and I had a set of HRS alloys previously in another car. I also had some unknown brand of alloys on my spark (now sold). No problems whatsoever on any kind of roads. I generally have the alloys with me for average 5 years duration. These are good enough for the most people.

      - Hub centric rings: It is good to have. These rings are made of a material which does seem fragile frankly (the local one's I get around here i.e.), but they have not given me any sort of problems either. As I have already mentioned, the main use of these rings come when you are doing high speeds. So, if for the majority part, you are doing town and relatively good-ish highway speeds, you won't notice their absence. I don't have these on my figo since I know it never exceeds 80 kmph here. On the other hand, I have put them in my brother's car since he does a lot of highway drives (triple digit speeds). It's not that if these are not put, your tyres will come out while doing high speeds. You will have vibrations on your steering. That's all. So decide for yourself what you want.

      Thanks,
      Simple_car

P.S. Well, one of the alloys on my spark did shatter early this year, but then my axle and lower arms were all bent and broken as well when this happened..So you can imagine what kind of speeds my driver was doing over bad roads. However, they served me well for 6 years. So I would still say, I was happy with the purchase. Otherwise, I have had no incidence whatsoever (not even paint chipping, cracks or bends etc.) with any of the alloys I have purchased.

I am getting these brand but in 8.5" j or 9"J width ,hence not given serious thought on these.

I drive twice a week on highway, so if required go with rings made out of S. Steel grade 403
      Thanks.

Umm.. I am no expert in this field. Just make sure whatever material you use, it won't 'stick' to the alloys when subjected to high temperatures repeatedly (due to heat, and more importantly, brakes). Otherwise, you will face issues while removing the tyre for puncture, alignment etc.

      Thanks,

Downsizing? Really? From those Wheels? thats quite a stupid thing to do. If you want a change in the way your car looks paint these wheels black but for god's sake dont mess with them
