      Drying towel

I was looking to buy a XXL size drying towel. Till now I've used Meg's water magnet, CG waffle wave and our boyinthebox long nap drying towels.
Those waffle wave towels aged fast and becomes rough over the period of time.
When I desperately looking for towels, a very good GH member sent 10 towels to me as a gift. Till now I've not met him, but the way he helped me is priceless. He did sent more towels to other members too. You can check that in this thread.

      https://gearheads.in/showthread.php?...ew-Boyinthebox

The grey colored with red satin edge towels are the drying ones. It's a double sided, 600gsm long naps and holds water like anything. With my limited experience, i can say, this towel is way better than the waffle ones in terms of durability and softness. It got abused like anything and still performs good. Thanks Nirmal aka boyinthebox. We all love you

When I work on monster cars, I need a little bigger sized towel for drying. Anupam suggested to look out Mf madness and woolly mammoth towels. Again, they are not shipping to India and I am stuck. When I was randomly checking alternatives, DC basic towel came to the light. Its 440gsm double sided, one with medium nap and another with small nap. The reviews stated its a decent towel and can't compare with woolly towels.
Somewhere in between waffle wave ones and woolly towels.

Since the price part is decent 650 rupees per towel and size is 24" x 36", I bought it from DC. Here are my findings.

      +ve's

      - Really huge. It covered 75% of my i10's bonnet
      - Single wipe on every panel
      - Easy wipe on roof. Just through one end to the other side and drag it. That's all.
      - Good absorption of water. No need to wring for a sedan. I checked this with our Civic.
      - Great for large cars/SUV's

      -ve's

      - Becomes heavy compared to waffle wave towels
      - You've to really use both hands for drying
      - The edges are little rough. Not a satin finished ones, but looks similar to the cobra towel edges.
      - Edge line finishing should have been better

      Unknown

      - Durability - need to check
      - Nap quality over the period of time

I too bought this towel with master baranjil's reference. First thing impressed me was the size. This is THE biggest towel I've purchased so far. At 650 bucks its sure VFM. Am yet to put it to use. Thanks DetailedClean for bringing it here. Will post feedback once I use it.

Isn't it tooo big to use effectively ? How are you using the towel are you folding it into portions and using or ? Is it easy to wash the towel ?

Do we also get 20" x 20" towels or anything in that vicinity ?

Yes quite big & would become damn heavy once it absorbs significant amount of water.

Yup have to fold & use it, like any other MF towel.

Like any other MF towel. Take the same precautions as you do when you wash a MF towel. Don't wringle it.

What are you going to do with that size ? I doubt. Check DetailedClean.in

16" X 16" feels small. 20" x 20" or maybe little more would be perfect palm grip size !!

      Me. Me..ask me.
I use it regularly on the beast. Well not this brand, but the Cobra Guzzler. Quite expensive, not VFM.
You'll find a need for such a large towel with beasts like the XUV. It is indeed a pain to hold such a large towel. I usually fold it in 8 or 16 depending on the panel and switch sides once done with a panel. My roof needs one side of the towel full.

It does. But to your advantage. The pressure on the towel is just right to suck the water. Not enough to induce any swirls.
