Which car to buy - Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol or VW Polo 1.2 Highline Petrol?

After a lot of deliberation i have narrowed down to 2 cars - the Hyundai Grand i10 Asta(O) Petrol and VW Polo 1.2 Highline Petrol (even though they belong to kind of different segments).I am mainly looking for a car for city use with occasional trips on the highway. Here are my thoughts so far on the two.

      Hyundai Grand i10

      - nice looks
      - feature packed
      - looks decent to drive in city, however couldn't test it on the highways during test drive.

      VW polo

      - superb build quality
      - VW brand name
      - couldn't test the car in the city as the showroom is situated on the outskirts

As far as budget is concerned, both are almost in the same price band, the polo being slightly expensive by 60 k.

Can you please help me in choosing the right car?

I my cousin owns i 10 grand. So I had opportunities to drive it both in city and highway, in city it behaved as a good city car, but I don't like its drive in highway, though that's completely my thought.

      faster than the next segment
      tdi at lesser price.

Why do people post I want the best for my car... When there isn't anything that is the best on the car to begin with.

I will suggest to go with grand i10. The polos 1.2 petrol is not a very good performer. Also the rear legroom with polo is an issue. Hyundai has a better service network and grand has a refreshing feel to the now old polo.

I beg to differ that the 3 potter Polo can't stand in front of the i10 Grand 4 Cylinder. At 82 Bhp i10 Grand on paper atleast will be faster than the Polo which is rated at 74 bhp. Don't have first hand experience with i10 Grand, but Polo sucks in terms of Speed.

Ji , i10 grand is 82hp at crank so considering 15% loss, thats not much.

      Polo is 74 at wheel.

If its like rapid which on paper says 105 and on dyno gives 108. The 74 should be 78.. or more. and 78 on wheel is not bad.

True, still you cannot call Polo as a winner

+1. Not many of us realize that VAG cars list the bhp @ wheel whereas most manufacturers advertise the bhp @ crank.
