are these buses going to be introduced soon or they already there? and AFAIK, JCBL are only body builders right? So which buses are these?

there are quite a lot of king long buses running around on long distance routes.
feels very flimsy and very 'chinese'.

Lots of King Longs running in Bombay City with BEST - AC buses - and also with MSRTC on Bombay-Pune route.
No private operator has bought them.
All BEST buses are JCBL body.
King Longs have had a torrid track record - breakdowns, electrical fires, etc. but they are reported to be comfortable. They are under-powered and struggle up flyover slopes.

I traveled in one of theses buses in Mumbai. Supposed to be A/C but the conductor was telling everyone, "sir A/C band hai" (sir, A/C is off) at the time of issuing ticket (as if you can get down mid-way) Terribly underpowered and the autos were overtaking this bus with ease. No comparison to the volvo buses in bangalore. Any idea how much these cost?

We cannot compare these buses with the Volvo Low floor.

But these are better than the Tata Marcopolo Low floor buses in terms of looks and build quality.

jnNURM seems to have gone in big time for Tata Marco Polo buses - almost all new BMTC / MTC (Metropolitan Transport Corporation) Chennai buses are Marco Polos. Those driving on NH4 past Dharwad can see the parking lot of Tata Motors yard filled with jnNURM scheme painted buses.

Maybe a little OT, but what is this mystery between MTC switching over from AL to Tata?

MTC runs a strange combination of buses these days - the normal buses are the AL buses, the air suspension buses are the AL buses again, the low floor buses are the Tata Marco Polo and the A/C buses are the Volvo B7Rs.

Most of the long distance routes now have A/C options including one from Thiruvanmiyur to Sriperumbudur!
