      Service Issues - Ford

Was reading the Ford Figo facebook page today, and practically every other guy is complaining about service, while talking good about the cars. Wanted to know from owners if there is any truth in this?

As far my Ford Fiesta exp in Kochi goes; I rate it better than Hyundai but certainly lesser than Maruti.

Seems like the numbers game is catching up with Ford. Looking at their service station, I always felt; it was good only for very few numbers. One of the top guys in Ford had indicated; way back in Jan 2009; that they were releasing a new small car and expect 2k-3k sales per month. So the current sales is well above their expectation; or so it seems.

Will know when it goes for next service

I think every service centre is BAD if you get something out of the way issue. If you dont have a good relationship with the people there its even worse.

      @gemi-Not true.
Ford cochin goes out of its way to make your ownership a nightmare.
Something as simple as an ORVM replacement in the endy took over 2 months of constant battling.
An alloy replacement attempt was soooo unpleasant that went to new bharat tires and got an ugly after market one and still had a better experience.
      At New bharat! Imagine!
Taking it for a service is so irritating, that i prefer it when my bro leaves his car at his in laws when he is out of the country.
      Love the car though.

what timing! I just got the Figo out of first service. The experience is surely not the best I have had. For what should have been a simple affair, I was clearly left wondering if they cannot do it better. Everything, right from the way you get greeted to the time it takes to attend to the car, to final delivery, feels tacky. I just told myself, I had been spoiled by Sundaram Honda!

Simple requests went unattended, service advisor did not know his stuff, accessories were not available and they had no idea when it will be available.... there were some minor issues like a door pocket cap (to cover the screw on the door pocket) missing on both RHS doors, when I complained about it, the SA flatly said "Sir you have to speak to Sales team"! I just said forget it, get my car serviced, I don't want to come here for another 10K KMS.

I am really glad the service interval is 10K.

Ford, you need to pull up your socks before this attitude hurts the sales.

This was expected when the sales zoom all of a sudden. The service guys are left floundering. God knows what will happen next when my fiesta is due for service.

Its high time Ford starts another service centre in Cochin and multiple service centres in most places

I was talking about this to my service adviser at Lathangi and he told me that more A.S.S. are in pipeline. Hope that is true.
Luckily my Ikon would be out of warranty by the next service and I can look for options outside as well.

Ford has actually sold more than their 2009 figures in the last 3 months. If they really dont pull up their socks its going to be a disaster. The A.S.S guys are not used to seeing so many cars come in for service. More than that the vastly different profile of hatch customers are going to give them some sleepless nights.

Yup. With a 272% growth from May last year, they better do pull up their socks.
